Here’s the categorical — and prior — refutation: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/09/22/cnn-calls-out-mccain-lie_n_128475.html

the end of McCain’s commercials should say
“I’m John McCain and I approve this lie.”

Gee whiz! Since when have our friends on the right let a pesky little thing like the truth get in the way of spreading a good lie? Even with mounds of evidence to the contrary, Bush loyalist Sean Hannity still occasionally spouts the “we invaded Iraq to fight those who attacked us on 9/11 and to give the oppressed Iraqis a thriving democracy” nonsense. And the hosts of local wingnut radio here in Central Florida certainly make no effort to challenge their callers when they peddle the “Obama is a Muslim” lie. Victory at all costs, right, Cons?
