Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.”

Fate of bailout plan in McCain’s hands?

It says HERE that the Wall Street bailout plan can’t win congressional approval if John McCain doesn’t vote for it.

But former House Speaker Newt Gingrich SAYS the bailout is a political loser and warns McCain against embracing it.

Clearly, there are downsides for McCain no matter what he does, especially with polls SHOWING that the American public blames Republicans, by a 2-to-1 margin, for the financial crisis.

And 90% of the American Public doesn’t have a clue regarding how we got in this mess and we certainly can’t rely on the MSM to educate them.

    1. 100% financing to people with questionable credit histories.(Fannie/Freddie)
    2. Packaging poor loans as mortgage backed securities and lying about the risk. (Wall Street)
3.Insuring this garbage with insufficient reserves (AIG)

    Where was the oversight?
