Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.”

See if you can watch this without cringing

Hey Pat. How come this loser of a reporter (lowest ranked viewership of all the networks) doesn’t ask Obama about his foreign policy credentials? Because the liberal press (and guys like you) have taken a pass on vetting this “man who never was”. I encourage your readers to go to the following link and see what real intellectual honesty looks like.

David: You diss a network newscast that nightly draws millions of viewers, and then you link to a column in a paper owned by the Rev. Sun Myung Moom, the eccentric ex-convict. Brilliant.

David: Quit changing the subject. What about what Palin said? She’s really impressive, isn’t she? Every American should see that video clip.

David. Keep reading that right wing propaganda. You and Manzullo think you can sway the voters here? You can’t. Obama is going to be the next president of the US. You Repubs had your chance for the last 8 years and came close to destroying America. Now the Democrats will have to try to clean up the mess.
You can put the blame on the news media or whoever you want. But the fact is GWB and the Republican congress is at fault. I admit that the American people looked the other way but they won’t in November. McCain is toast. The real America is coming back!!

Swamprat: Don’t mention Bush to the conservatives. His name is toxic to them. They’re embarrassed at ever having supported him, so they pretend that he never existed. Their hero now is Mr. Straight Talk, even though he’s just another Bush. They can’t name one thing that McCain is going to do to improve America, but by God, they’re sure he’ll think of something. He’s been on every side of every issue, but they trust that he’ll somehow justify their faith in him. They just can’t imagine that voters would ever go for a guy like Obama. He’s too exotic. He’s the dreaded “Other.” He’s a damn celebrity. What could be worse than that? He represents everything that’s evil to people who are told what to think by Rush Limbaugh and Fox News. He’s not one of us. He’s only technically an American, not a real one. For heaven’s sake, he’s an honors graduate of Harvard. He’s a walking example of multiculturalism and diversity. Some people even say he’s the antichrist. There’s no way a person like that can defeat a guy like John McCain. Not in our America.

Nope couldn’t do it, I tried but I cringed…why don’t they suspend her, oh right they are trying, you can tell she has no clue and she is just making stuff up and she is trying really hard to remember the “talking points’ she memorized. What a joke!

Swamprat and Pat: I don’t think her answer is that bad. Lets compare here to Biden who does not seem to know who was president during the depression or that television had not been invented. She still needs more practice.

    Lets watch a great speaker.

Response to #5: Pat, you have so very eloquently summed up, in one paragraph, the current mindset of the GOP faithful across the land. That’s exactly the way the lunatic fringe here in Central Florida sees this presidential race, with a few “closet Muslim” and “terrorist’s best friend” references thrown in for good measure.
