The occasion was a Republican presidential debate this past January.
John McCain was asked about his qualifications to handle the nation’s economy.
His answer touched upon Iraq, patriotism, Ronald Reagan, Islamic extremism, his experience as a prisoner of war and several other irrelevant topics. But he uttered not one word about the economy:
