Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.”

Rebecca Traister says she’s had it up to here with the Sarah Palin pity party.

Argues Traister: “Shaking our heads and wringing our hands in sympathy with Sarah Palin is a disservice to every woman who has ever been unfairly dismissed based on her gender, because this is an utterly fair dismissal, based on an utter lack of ability and readiness.”

John McCain SUGGESTED this morning that one of the problems with the Wall Street bailout is that it suffers from a bad label.

“Let’s not call it a bailout,” said McCain. “Let’s call it a rescue.”

Hey, why not call it the Flag, Motherhood and Apple Pie Act? And then nobody would vote against it – for fear that some political rival would use such opposition in an attack ad.

UPDATE: Fox News is begging McCain to suspend his campaign again to focus on the financial crisis, and he says he just might do that.

Yeah, why not? It worked so well the first time.
