Enough about Main Street! What about 2nd Street?
October 3rd, 2008 at 05:21pm Pat Cunningham
References to Main Street are all the rage these days in the presidential campaign and in the debate over the financial crisis.
All the time, it’s Main Street this and Main Street that.
Enough, already!
Main is not the most common street name in America. Second (or 2nd) is. Main is only in seventh place.
I used to live on Main Street — in two residences, actually — but I don’t anymore, so I don’t give a damn about the people who live there. I only care about us folks on Easy Street (as I figuratively call my street).
For your edification, HERE’s a list of the most common street names here in the good old U.S. of A.

I thought this was a NEWSpaper website. Not some trivia site.
If I wanted trivia, I’d talk to my local bartender.
