Palin quoted Reagan remark from 1961 diatribe against Medicare

As someone once observed, context is everything.
Hence, it’s important to note that a Ronald Reagan quotation Sarah Palin used at the end of last night’s debate came from a 1961 CAMPAIGN AGAINST MEDICARE, which Reagan saw as a step toward totalitarianism.
I wonder if Palin knew about this context.
Nah! She just read what they gave her.

Your sexism towards women knows no bounds…but then again, you can’t help yourself…you ARE a lefty
Where is the post about Joe LYING about Barry’s views on Hamas?
Where is the post about Joe LYING about “clean” coal?
Where is the post about Joe LYING about meeting with Iran’s leader WITHOUT preconditions? Joe shouldn’t have missed that one, he was at the same freaking debate
And where is the condescending remarks about how dumb Joe is that he doesn’t know the Constitution of his own country…especially the part about how the Veep presides over the very body that he is a member of?

Bouncy: Only a sexist thinks it’s sexist to criticize a woman on matters that have nothing to do with her gender. Ergo, you’re the sexist here.

Pat,
Howsabout only a lefty thinks it’s racist to challenge Barry H. Nobama on real issues?

I’m not sure which debate Senator Biden was at, but, he did now up, albeit unprepared. He borrowed a bit of rhetoric himself.

Careful,Pat. You’re bound to confuse ol’ Uncle Bouncy with logic. You know how much that upsets our friends on the right.
And, yes, you’re most likely right about Palin just reading what they gave her. Leave it to a GOP toadie to plagiarize from a dead president without crediting the source.

She credited the source, but implied a different context.

My apologies, Milton. I didn’t recall her citing Ronald Reagan when she spit out that line, but the transcript of the debate certainly indicates that she did cite Ronald Reagan. My bad.

But Palin said we shouldn’t look back at the past.

All kidding aside, Famous Person thought Palin nailed it.

OK, Bouncy, you’ve made your accusations, now where’s the references for them? Show us where they actually occurred. Especially that last one about the Constitution, because Joe Biden CLEARLY said one of the duties of the V.P. is to be president of the Senate and to cast the deciding vote in case of a tie. Were you asleep then, or what?

I think it’s time to bring in the relief crickets. The first string are worn out.
