Applesauce

McCain’s plumber stunt a big flop

New polls SHOW that John McCain’s effort to make Joe the Plumber (above) a populist icon has failed.

Of course, it didn’t help that Joe turned out not to be a plumber and that he would benefit, not suffer, from Barack Obama’s tax plan.

Do you recall that Obama did not raise the issue of Joe the Plumber, rather McCain started it. So, I guess that means if you step out of line McCain will make you an example. Typically, McCain did not check to see if Joe really was a plumber or whether his tax plan would help Joe more than Obama’s plan would. I guess that’s what mavricks do. Sounds a lot better than erratic, shoot-from-the-hip political opportunism. Both McCain and Obama want income redistribution. McCain wants to take from the poor and give to the rich. Agreed that is not socialism for McCain. I think the technical term is greed.

It just shows how cynical McCan’ts campaign has become and their disrespect to the voters. He didn’t vett Sarah and he certainly didn’t vett Joe.

It\’s funny how McCain\’s folks turned him into a metaphor once it was found he wasn\’t actually what he said he was, and Obama\’s tax plan would serve him better than McCain\’s. Sorta like the economy being fundamentally strong.

I listened to an interview with Joe. He has worked as a plumber for fifteen years, with another plumber. He will be taking his test to get his own license in a few months. And Obama brought his campaign to JOE\’S neighborhood. But all that aside, HIS QUESTION IS STILL RELEVANT! Obama says he wants to \"spread the wealth around\", which is just another way of saying \"From each, according to his ability; to each, according to his need. \"(Karl Marx) Apparently Obama\’s long-term association with Bill Ayres (who describes himself as a \"communist\") had more of an effect than he claims.

By some of the logic expressed here, I guess Ronald Reagan was an even bigger socialist than Obama, since Reagan’s tax plan had a higher tax rate on the wealthy than Obama’s.

Except that Reagan LOWERED taxes, not raised them.

Take from those that produce, give to those that don’t. i could get elected on that premise.
