Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.”

For McCain, Palin is a bigger albatross than Bush

A new NBC/Wall Street Journal poll SHOWS that voters’ greatest concern about John McCain is Sarah Palin, not George W. Bush.

But what can McCain do? Shun her? She’s not going to suddenly become qualified for the Oval Office in the next two weeks.  He’s stuck with her. Yipes.

Exit polls conducted during the 1988 presidential election indicated that the first George Bush would have won by several more percentage points but for having Dan Quayle as his running mate. I’m guessing Palin will be an even bigger drag on the GOP ticket.

UPDATE: It probably isn’t going to help when word gets around about the Republican National Committee SPENDING more than $150,000 for clothing and accessories for Palin and her family.

UPDATE: Wow! A new Pew poll SHOWS Obama leading by 14 percentage points and reflects widespread concern over McCain’s “poor judgment” and public dismay with his campaign. It also shows Palin’s unfavorable rating outpacing the favorable — especially among women, 60 percent of whom hold unfavorable opinions of her.

It’s that 3 letter word “jobs”. This blog coming from a Biden supporter. You’re hate for Palin is hillarious. Being a Biden backer, and ripping Palen. Just what do you fear from her. You might be fat as a moose, but she can see the difference. I think you have a fear and a hate for women that comes across daily on your little toy here. Sarah is a successful woman with fantastic children. One serving my country in Iraq. She has a wonderful loving husband to share life with and you have nothing and nobody. You go home to Rosy Palm and an empty house and practice hating the world. Don’t try to bring the world to your level, try to lift your self up. You will be much happier in the end.

Steelhead: You know less about my personal life than you do about politics or history, which is saying something. And your penchant of late for conspicuous public mention of autoeroticism suggests a weirdness surpassing anything exhibited by our other flaky Applesauce commenters. But I’d appreciate it if you’d keep your sexual fantasies to yourself and stop mentioning them in your contributions here. Any further such comments will be deleted.

If she was really nuts she would predict a terrorist attack 6 months after the election if Obambi wins. Oops, someone already has predicted that. Now who is dumb enough to promise the American people that if they get elected that a terrorist will attack because the terrorists don’t fear his running mate. The possible future president. If he wins we are up **** creek with no paddle. Oh, that’s right. Ol’ Joe Biden promised this attack. So if Palen is an albatross, then Biden must be the TITANIC. Have no fear, the MSM is hear circling the wagons and covering their tracks as Joe and Obambi run and hide while a few days until the public forgets. What a joke… Up with ACORN.

    Steelhawk —

Any anger issues? You sound like a lunatic. Biden didn’t say a terrorist attack is eminent. You are lying. Here is what he said:

“Mark my words, It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We’re about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here if you don’t remember anything else I said. Watch, we’re gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy.”
Just curious, did you get this information on Fox, or one of the lunatic brownshirt blogs?

Geez Pat. You show hate every day toward Mrs. Palen. That’s ok. Then I show it to you and you get all offensive. You failed the test and it didn’t take long. Just imagine if someone was doing that about you constantly all day long, and all you did was accept the nomination for VP. The left says “then she shouldn’t run for office”. Is that like me saying “then you shouldn’t have a blog.” Questioning her positions are one thing. You and the MSM have gone well overboard on her. That is the game plan for the left. Objective journalism has been thrown aside and all stops are removed to make sure Obambi wins. Even if it takes election fraud to make it happen. You have followed the lead of the MSM and have been tearing into her on a daily basis. I’m just balance. Call me Fox News.

What you don’t get is everything is slight of hand for Obama. You see 95% of the Obama supporter will not understand the following article. I am suppose to believe that poll? The press took more time vetting “Joe the plumber” than Obama or his wife. There is still a lot of questions about Obama he will not answer and that is what should concern most people.

You’re right Henry, he didn’t mean terrorist attack. He meant a mad neighbor would just want ‘Ol Joe and Obambi to turn down the Ludicris rap music that Obambi likes so much. Hopefully the test will only involve Obambi voters. The blood of the innocent will be on their hands. And of course I would have seen it on Fox. The left wing networks, which are all the rest, have circled the wagons and have gone into protection mode again, while Obambi goes and visits his racist grandma, you remember grandma, the racist he threw under the bus in his unity speech. Duck and run for cover. Keep drinking the kool aid Henry.

    Steelhawk -

You are on a bit of a rant, and it isn’t making much sense. I haven’t heard too much about Obama’s ‘rascist’ grandmother. I guess I missed that Gestapo meeting. Up your meds, they aren’t working and don’t forget vote November 4th. Your guy is going to need it, unless you live in Illinois, New Mexico, Virginia, Colorado, Michigan, Ohio, and a bunch of other formerly red or battleground states, in which case don’t bother because McCain is toast.

steelhawk, it sounds like you may be spending a lot of time alone down in the basement, and it’s the start of the heating season, and I’m thinking that maybe the furnace in your house is not properly vented, or there’s a hole in the venturi tube. This could result in high levels of carbon monoxide in the air you’re breathing. This leads to carbon monoxide poisoning, which can make you sound like a moron, and misspell a lot of words. PLEASE GET THE FURNACE CHECKED IMMEDIATELY!

BY THE WAY, IT MIGHT INTEREST STEELHAWK TO KNOW THAT THERE ARE STUDIES SUGGESTING THAT SOME OF THE MOST VEHEMENT GAY-BASHERS IN OUR SOCIETY ARE STRUGGLING WITH THEIR OWN SEXUALITY. LOOK AT THE REV. TED HAGGARD, FOR INSTANCE. WE ALREADY KNOW FROM SEVERAL OF HIS PREVIOUS COMMENTS HERE THAT STEELHAWK HAS AN OBSESSION WITH AUTO-EROTICISM. Wow, I’ve really been missing out on this thread……………….

    Wow. All I can say……………..

I do think Senator Joe Biden is a very smart and aggressive man, and I do not believe that he is mistaken. Terrorist groups know what they will get if Senator McCain is president. But, they see that Senator Obama is yet a bit “green”, and far more inexperienced in many crucial areas than Senator McCain.

They’ll test him. At our expense. What, whom, and where will their target be?

    How will we react?

  • 13. DingDong  |  October 22nd, 2008 at 10:51 am

Obama will run up to the cave and talk to them. Tell them that he will tax the U.S. rich some more and give it to them. They will then hold a big rally with dirt columns for Obama. He will give them a mesmerizing speech and tell them don\’t do it again please, I need to get re-elected. Obama will then convert to whatever third world religion they are part of and adopted a name to corresponds to their county, oh wait…he already has that. He will come back here, change his religion back to Christianity, put on red suit with a big \"S\" and declare \"problem solved\".

echo4charlie wrote: “Terrorist groups know what they will get if Senator McCain is president.”

And what will they get, Charlie? The same thing they’ve gotten from Bush over the last seven years? Oh, silly me! That’s right! How soon I forgot “Mission Accomplished.” Bush went over there, kicked their butts and completely vanquished terrorism, didn’t he? So much, in fact, that we’ve declared victory and brought our 150K brave troops home from Iraq and Afghanistan. I guess that those statistics showing there are more terrorists and terrorist acts in the world today than before 9/11 must be some part of a left-wing conspiracy, right?

Sen. McCain says he has a greatplan for capturing Osama bin Laden. Well, then, why doesn’t he share it with us now, so that we can go get the most wanted man on Earth?

Truth is, Chuckles, that terrorists don’t give a rat’s behind about whom we elect as President. Obama or McCain, they still hate our country and our values and they’re not anymore afraid of McCain and Bush.

Get a clue, and a life, Dittohead.
