Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.” |

Pat, you should have a forum about how European-Americans are losing their sense of pride and giving in to our weakening, welfare society. Their grandparents and our Forefathers are rolling in their graves!!

Why not? Obama’s buddies at Acorn signed up Mickey Mouse to vote.

That’s nothing compared to what your comrades in the GOP are doing here in Florida. Members of the “party of values” are going door-to-door in Florida retirement communities asking elderly residents if they’re voting by absentee ballot. If they answer “Yes,” and then affirm that they’re voting for Obama, the GOP activists offer to take the ballot to the elections office. And, of course, the ballot is thrown away or destroyed once in the hands of these “compassionite conservatives. What a party!

Sounds like an Urban legend fostered by the fever swamp of liberal minds. Evidence Orlando?

My pleasure, Mike. From the Thursday, October 23 edition of the Orlando Sentinel:
Voting Issue: “Someone came to my door and asked for me by name and asked if I was planning to vote for (Sen. Barrack) Obama. When I told him absolutely, he told me that I could cast my vote with him and he would turn it into the election office for me to save me the trouble of having to go myself. Luckily, I know better and I want my vote to count!” - Cassandra Gardner of Orlando.
Answer: Margaret Dunn, senior deputy supervisor of elections for Orange County, said voters should never give their ballot to a stranger. “Either mail it to us or bring it to us or take it to an early voting site,” she said.

Vote from Home Program Joins ACORN in Hot Seat
Vote from Home, a program that supports voter registration and absentee voting has come under scrutiny after a number of names were traced back to a single home in Ohio, whose owner lives in New York.
An investigation by a local prosecutor was launched after it was found that the home, located in Columbus, Ohio, hosted the registrations of 13 out-of-state voters, including four who live in New York but had registered in Ohio after staying in the home for 30 days.
The voters, tied to a voter registration effort called Vote from Home, cast their votes in the state, which offers early voting up to 29 days before Election Day. The organization was created to take advantage of a change to Ohio voting law that allows Ohio residents to cast absentee or early votes without an official explanation.
Questions arose after a report by a college news service focused on the Vote from Home program.

Woman Attacked At ATM, Assailant Carves Letter Into Her Face
Source: The Pittsburg Channel
PITTSBURGH — A 20-year-old woman who was robbed at an ATM in Bloomfield was also maimed by her attacker, police said.
Pittsburgh police spokeswoman Diane Richard tells Channel 4 Action News that the victim was robbed at knifepoint on Wednesday night outside of a Citizens Bank near Liberty Avenue and Pearl Street just before 9 p.m.
Richard said the robber took $60 from the woman, then became angry when he saw a McCain bumper sticker on the victim’s car. The attacker then punched and kicked the victim, before using the knife to scratch the letter “B” into her face, Richard said.
Richard said the woman refused medical treatment after the assault, which happened outside the view of the bank’s surveillance cameras.
The robber is described as a dark-skinned black man, 6 feet 4 inches tall, 200 pounds with a medium build, short black hair and brown eyes. The man was wearing dark colored jeans, a black undershirt and black shoes.

echo. I bet it took you all morning to find that minority dig. Feel better now?

DingDong’s racist little story about the McCain backer who was “attacked” is a phony. See here:

What’s racist about it? It proved to be a hoax, but at the time of posting, it was breaking nationwide news. It’s not a minority dig, it was news (from a liberal source, mind you). If you think Pittsburgh votes republican, think again, swamprat.
Like I said, it turned out to be a hoax. But, can’t you guys offer up anything more than trying to paint others racist based on national news?
Doesn’t that make you guys racist for accusing me (am I Black? White? Hispanic? Chinese? Japanese? You tell me) of being racist for posting a news story that broke across the nation, although later proven to be a hoax? Doesn’t that make you anti whatever ethnicity I am?
Although it was a hoax, you guys still need to wake up…………..
