  I watched the video slide show linked in one of the comments on that site. It was put together back in 2006, and is startlingly ironic and prescient. I will link it here… www.businessjive.com It is about 70 minutes long and well worth watching. It made me very angry and a little afraid, as it should for anyone that watches it. I encourage everyone to check it out.

  C’mon Pat, that’s revisionist history at its best. None of the three said it was the only cause but all three said it was a substantial contributing cause. Cheap money from the Fed, government subsidized risk (Fannie and Freddie) and Wall Street recklessness brought this about. Without 1 and 2 you would not have had 3.

  I forgot to add to comment #3 government regulations that encouraged and to an extent required a percentage of real estate loans to low income families whose ability to pay off those loans was severely limited.

  Pat, I love the way you parsed this in your brain. They did NOT exonerate Freddie and Fannie in this video. Better turn up the hearing aid.

  Freddie and Fannie were a large source of the failure, but the Democrats in congress puppeted them, and then hid the news under Barney Frank.

  What will happen in congress, Pat, when the Dems take 60%? Do you think they’ll start being honest with you and I then?
