Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.”

Who is that woman? The Karl Marx quote sounded like something from Saturday Night Live.

  • 4. DingDong  |  October 25th, 2008 at 9:05 pm

Nothing wrong with that interview. You never complained about the Palin interviews. Funny what your like when the shoe is on the other foot.

  • 5. David Johnson  |  October 25th, 2008 at 9:51 pm

Why not put up the recent interview of Sarah Palin by CNN where the interviewer lied about a National Review article Pat? I’ll tell your audience why…because you are a liberal hypocrite Pat. By the way fans… watch this.

(David Johnson and DingDong) You couldn’t have said it better. Pat is a total liberal hypocrite as are most of the far left. This is what would be all the time in an Obama regime and has been through the whole campaign. Obama and his crew never answer Americans and tell the truth. They are misleading and deceptive and if called on it they cry like little babies (like Pat) that this is unfair, they are being picked on or some times then they call you a Racist. This is what we will get from Obama and all his cronies.

You have GOT to be kidding Linda! Marxism? Socialism? This is a Democracy you clueless idiot! Obama and Biden will win because they are doing what the PEOPLE want! You better go back to school and take some more history classes. Then you’ll realize the Republican Party is history!

People, people, don’t you realize as soon as soon as you start to criticize this paper or it’s political views they just take the blog offline and you never see your comments again.

It’s the way of the liberal press, now watch, this blog entry will be gone offline very very soon!

  • 9. Echo4Charlie  |  October 26th, 2008 at 9:40 am

I thought these were good questions. Why else would they proclaim agenda to allow no more interviews until after the election. They never really answered the questions. They really made Biden mad, though………….

  • 10. Pat Cunningham  |  October 26th, 2008 at 9:58 am

surgedr: What the hell are you talking about? Criticisms of this paper DO NOT disappear from this blog, as our regular visitors will attest.

  • 11. hokumboy  |  October 26th, 2008 at 11:21 am

The only postings to this blog I recall being purged were those containing gross obsecenities or racial slurs.
    But,
I did post something that was perceived to be critical of LGC to another blog run by the RRStar . That was removed. No obscenity. No slur. Just perceived criticism.
Ironincally, I was defending LGC against another poster and the blog writer obviously misunderstood.
So, surgedr may be wrong about YOUR blog, Pat. But, he’s half right.

    god,
I hate it when I have to agree with guys like that!

  • 13. Ross Calloway  |  October 26th, 2008 at 11:36 am

No surprise Pay, I have to disagree with your assessment of the interview. I thought that it was a good interview and for two reasons.

It showed that the news person asked a question that so far had not been asked of Biden directly, which was a fair question that went to the heart of Obama’s campaign and his view of change for America. And secondly, it showed the thin skin of Biden for dismissing the question and the host for asking it.

The blowback from the interview also highlighted page one of the Democrat play book, when you don’t like the question and don’t want to answer it, shoot the messenger.

Sorry, that was three reasons, not two.

  • 14. Ross Calloway  |  October 26th, 2008 at 11:37 am

Sorry for the typo, that should read, ‘No surprise Pat’

  • 15. DingDong  |  October 26th, 2008 at 4:16 pm

Interviewer: So Senator Obama, why don’t you release your college records?

Obama: What kind of race baiting question is that? You will be hearing from my lawyers and the DOJ.

  • 16. Echo4Charlie  |  October 26th, 2008 at 5:14 pm

You know, the worst thing that the Obama camp did was declare (what I understand to be) a moretorium on further interviews until after the election.

Even if there is nothing to hide, it carries that appearance. It really clouds any percieved transparency.

I just think that if they carry through with the percieved moretorium, it will turn a lot of voters off.

I’ve spoken to people who know some Southern Democrats, and, even though this is the year 2008, I have heard a lot of (shameful) chit chat about being torn (some Southern Democrats)between which they want to vote for less…..a Black man, or a woman.

I subscribe to neither view, as my preference, regardless of party affiliation, is based on who has the best solutions to the problems that are more important to me. That kind of gross mindset is still out there, though. SO, I’ll be suprised to see what states turn in which electoral votes come Nov. 4th.

It turns out she is married to a GOP media consultant. I guess we no longer have to wonder where her questions came from.

  • 18. LD  |  October 26th, 2008 at 5:37 pm

oh, and here’s her interview with McCain last month. John, what makes you so great?

You mean like the questions Charlie Gibson asked Palin and Obama? Listed below are the questions:

OBAMA interview with Charlie Gibson, June 2008
How does it feel to break a glass ceiling?
How does it feel to “win”?
How does your family feel about your “winning” breaking a glass ceiling?
    Who will be your VP?
Should you choose Hillary Clinton as VP?
    Will you accept public finance?
What issues is your campaign about?
    Will you visit Iraq?
Will you debate McCain at a town hall?
What did you think of your competitor’s [Clinton] speech?
    http://abcnews.go.com/print?id=5000184

PALIN interview with Charlie Gibson, Sept. 2008
Do you have enough qualifications for the job you’re seeking? Specifically have you visited foreign countries and met foreign leaders?
Aren’t you conceited to be seeking this high level job?
    Questions about foreign policy
    -territorial integrity of Georgia
-allowing Georgia and Ukraine to be members of NATO
    -NATO treaty
    -Iranian nuclear threat
-what to do if Israel attacks Iran
    -Al Qaeda motivations
    -the Bush Doctrine
    -attacking terrorists harbored by Pakistan
Is America fighting a holy war? [misquoted Palin]

She isn’t hot enough for Fox News.

  • 21. echo4charlie  |  October 27th, 2008 at 9:57 am

    Great reference DingDong. Exactly.

When asked tough questions, they (Obama camp) folded, and cried “FOUL!”
