Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.”

Palin’s pals say she’s bristling at how the McCain camp is running her show

Pretty interesting STUFF about internal strife within the McCain-Palin campaign.

Friends of Sarah Palin says she’s begun to “go rogue,” defying the advice of her handlers.

UPDATE: Here’s MORE STUFF along the same lines.

Let Palin be Palin. Please! It’s the gift that keeps on giving. Ten days of entertainment, higher vote totals for Democrats, plus she’ll cement her place in Republican politics.

I wonder if McCain even considered Elizabeth Dole? That would have been a hard ticket to beat.

Finally a dem admits that there is not much to the Oblahblah/Biden ticket. Thanks cold.

There is much more to the Obama/Biden ticket than there is to any ticket the Republicans could put up this year, especially one with that demented sleazeball McCain at the top. Liddy Dole may have attracted enough women and independents to make a McCain ticket competitive. That, Republican voter suppression tactics,a big wad of cash and weather factors on Election Day could eke out a win for McCain. The fact that McCain seriously screwed up in his VP pick says a lot about his prospects as a President. Was he just not thinking, or is there some other, darker reason for this screw-up.

The year 2000 McCain, you remember, the one who appealed to independents?… along with Elizabeth Dole would have been a great ticket. Although I suppose the “base” that Palin excites so much wouldn’t have had much to choose from.

McCain and Dole are both conservatives (even McCain ca2000); why would the base not be excited? Who else would they vote for? I hate to think that the Palin choice was just to please James Dobson (who reversed himself and now supports the ticket with Palin on it).

the McCain camp has been sending mixed signals since it’s inception… Sarah Palin can’t even keep up with McCain’s endless wavering between “straight talker” and crooked politician
