Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.”

Do McCain and his aides think they’ll win?

It says HERE that John McCain and his handlers have seemed pretty happy in recent days and claim that their reading of recent polls gives them new hope that the GOP presidential ticket will prevail.

UPDATE: But alas, a new Reuters/Zogby poll out this morning SHOWS Barack Obama opening a lead of seven percentage points.

“This is not good news for McCain,” says pollster John Zogby. “The race was tightening for a few days but now it is going back the other way.”

This Ayers story is such a non story!!! Are we to understand that future presidents should not interact with people of diverse opinions and backgrounds? Part of developing a world view that is wise and informed includes a diverse history of dialogue and interaction with a wide range of people and perspectives. This is a pitiful attempt to divert attention from a failing campaign that has run out of things to say!

Who cares about Ayers? I want to know just what the Palins did for the Alaska Independence Party. Especially since the founder was involved in bomb making and openly stated his hatred for the U.S. Now that’s American!

And this AIP stuff isn’t something that happened 40 years ago, either.
