We have a winner in our Applesauce Electoral College predictions contest
November 6th, 2008 at 02:25pm Pat Cunningham
Most news organizations decided today that Barack Obama has won North Carolina’s 15 electoral votes. Missouri, with 11 votes, remains too close to call, but I figure John McCain will prevail there.
So, Obama is likely to end up with 364 electoral votes.
The only Applesaucer who correctly predicted that figure was David Barrett (pictured above), who submitted his guess at 1:23 p.m. on Monday (see Comment No. 23 on THIS POST).
Congratulations, Dave.

Well thank you. It was easy. I just believed the polls, except for Indiana.

Good job, David. Congratulations.
So……………………………What are this weekend’s lottery numbers?
Wait………why would you tell us?????????

Wait a second, Pat. These seems like a neo-election contest.(think florida) I posted 367 before Dave who later posted the same number….but then, upon seeing how close my prediction was to the eventual correct number, Dave submitted a SECOND ballot and changed it to reflect what might be the exact total. However, I demand that his 2nd ballot be disallowed. Had I known that this was an old Chicago contest I would have also voted early and often. I don’t want to have to pursue this all the way to the Roberts court, but they give the shrub his victory so perhaps they will look favorably on me as well.

OK, barryfan: You can split the prize with David Barrett. Oh, I forgot. There is no prize!

Sounds like the election we just went through—no prize no matter what the outcome was.
