Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.” |

Rather than cut and paste the whole comment, here is a link to an excellent comment on the matter. I HIGHLY recommend everyone read it, it might open your eyes a little.

Keith Olbermann is a big idiot like all the others at MSNBC. Keith and Chris Matthews are the worst I seen. I hope they get fired some day. MSNBC sucks!!!!!!!

Maybe Keith is so upset because he’s gay like Chris Matthews and is stuck in his thoughts.

Bravo, Mr. Olbermann, Bravo.
You know what this is. An in genuine stand against a popular California proposition in want to appeal to a certain demographic group and consumer base. Some businesses with interest in any form or fashion, in whatever manner, in said demographic may, now, choose to purchase ad space that will air during his show.
I, personally, don’t think he gives two squirrel turds about Proposition 8, or the gay community. It’s an opportunistic rant meant to bolster viewership, ad space and revenue from the demographic that it appeals to.
And, personally, I don’t give two buzzard turds about Proposition 8, either. If it is going to be deemed legal for homosexual couples to marry, then, it’s legal. If it’s not, then, it’s not.

You know, not to beleaguer the point, but there is a lot of ridiculous expectation of President Obama.
Like I said, even though I didn’t vote for him, I’m going to back him. He’s my President. And, he’s going to succeed big, and make big mistakes. It’s just going to happen.
But a lot of special interest groups think that he’s going to cater to them individually, and he’s not. A lot of people have misinterpreted things he’s said he plans to do, and have misdirected expectation of the man.
I’ve got news for some of those special interest groups, who are going to accuse him of sweeping them under the rug, or ignoring them.
This world is an ugly place, and he’s walking into a global mess. He’s not going to have time for all of that piddly stuff. I’m not trying to sound callous, but, he’s just not.
He’s got a lot more important issues to work out.
If you want to marry your boyfriend, and feel alien in the US because of it, and it’s uncomfortable to you, then, move to Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Kuweit, or anywhere over there, where it is common for heterosexual (male) friends to hold hands and kiss on the cheek, as a display of friendship in their culture. Just their way of sayin’ “How do”.

I still don’t get this issue. If two people of the same gender want to get married, it does not effect the sanctity of my marraige at all. It doesn’t force anyone into a gay marraige and it does not mean any religious institution has to perform gay marraiges. Why are so may people hung up on this?

The state with the highest divorce rate in the country is protecting marriage. Ha.

I had to take Keith out of my season pass. It sits so wrong with me that he doesn’t VOTE. He spits out his venom everynight and the man can’t even take the time to vote. I am done with him.
