Are we hard-wired to ignore global warming?
November 14th, 2008 at 09:57am Pat Cunningham
Some social scientists contend that we have a hard time getting our minds around the concept of global warming partly because human-driven climate change is unprecedented.
And then there’s the matter of our tendency, as individuals, to reject anything that conflicts with our worldview.

Perhaps it is because it is presented as a Leftist POLITICAL issue, rather than a scientific issue. Or that anyone who disagrees with the concept of Global Warming, or that it is being cause exclusively by human activities (rather than natural causes) is vilified as a Right-wing kook, by those of the Left.
AlGore’s environmental hit piece can’t be shown English schools without a disclaimer being given, due to it’s glaring inaccuracies and exaggerations.(http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-485336/Schools-warn-Gore-climate-film-bias.html)
And it IS quite possible that some of us remember the “Global COOLING” scare of a couple deades ago.
The Global Warming issue has NOT been settled scientifically, in spite of comments to the contrary.

New Ice Age Predicted — But Averted by Global Warming?
Mason Inman
for National Geographic News
November 12, 2008
Deep ice sheets would cover much of the Northern Hemisphere thousands of years from now—if it weren’t for us pesky humans, a new study says.
Emissions of greenhouse gases—such as the carbon dioxide, or CO2, that comes from power plants and cars—are heating the atmosphere to such an extent that the next ice age, predicted to be the deepest in millions of years, may be postponed indefinitely (quick guide to the greenhouse effect).
