Why do so many right-wing men see Sarah Palin mainly as a sex object?
November 14th, 2008 at 01:42pm Pat Cunningham
Dennis Miller, the so-called comedian, is just one of many conservative men whose praise of Sarah Palin seems principally FOCUSED on her physical charms.
No wonder Palin’s poll numbers are higher among men than women.

I asked my wife why polls show that Sarah Palin is much more popular among men than among women. Her answer: “Because men think she’s hot.” I asked her if men are really that stupid. Her answer: “Yes, at least some of them.”

It might be that some of us find a successful, intelligent, AND attractive woman, who isn’t a ball-breaking feminist, both refreshing and sexy. I don’t consider that as “stupid”.
It is far more likely that other women feel threatened and/or imtimidated, by her example.

SNuss says Palin is “intelligent.” SNuss is not joking. Poor SNuss!
4. Billybeermonicagar | November 15th, 2008 at 11:59 am
I think the real question is why don’t many liberal ‘men’ think she is attractive. She could never be mistaken for the likes of a Bella Abzug.
5. Pat Cunningham | November 15th, 2008 at 12:15 pm
Billybeer: Who says liberal men don’t think she’s attractive? Sure, she’s good-looking. The problem is she’s stupid.

Conservative men find her a “…successful, intelligent, AND attractive woman….” Yeah, when compared to livestock and young boys. Liberal men prefer female human beings. I realize that reduces our options considerably, but we deal with it.

So Pat, you agree with many right wing men who see Sarah Palin mainly as a sex object. I knew you could be changed! Welcome to the dark side, if for only a minute or two. We could take this whole women in politics and the workplace to another level. If women were doing the ‘traditional’ jobs of taking care of the house and family, we would not be in the mess we are in now. Men would have all the factory jobs and such. They would not have to compete with ’stupid’ women. Unemployment would be lower. We all would only need one car, so global warming would not be an issue. All these new housing developements with houses that have big carbon footprints would not be needed. Looks like women have screwed this whole darn world up.

Pat, even YOU should know that you can’t believe all the biased blather you read or see in the Liberal MSM. Gov. Palin didn’t get where she is on looks alone. I don’t think that the University of Idaho gives out Batchlor’s degrees to just anyone.
You might want to read the comments of people who have actually spent time with her.

Wow! Cons, losing the election has definitely short-circuited the cognitive functioning within your skulls. If you truly subscribe to the preposterous notion that Palin is some kind of underestimated intellectual giant, please navigate to You Tube and view Palin’s interview with Katie Couric, particularly the question about which magazines and newspapers she reads. (Yeah, you’re right, that was a loaded question that she couldn’t have possibly been prepared to answer.)
If you Cons really want to pursue a “Palin 2012″ strategy, don’t let me get in your way. The debates against President Obama will be hilarious (and will, no doubt, give SNL a bonanza of material), and the actual election will be a landslide of biblical proportions that will make Johnson/Goldwater look like a nailbiter,
You Cons are a real scream in the post-election world of 2008!

I heard the latest strategy that 60 percent the right was thinking about was to go was to go “more conservative” in the next elections. I have a better idea: Come up with plans that actually work. Cite sources that aren’t fictional. Sell your ideas rather than wrapping yourselves in a flag or a Bible and claiming whoever doesn’t agree with you is unAmerican or antiChristian. Don’t ignore the findings of science. Correct yourself when you are wrong. Be the firat to correct errors in your party rather than getting exposed in the news media.
That’s not just how your party can win… that’s how any party can win.
11. shawnnews | November 15th, 2008 at 11:38 pm
Of course I meant “Be the FIRST to correct errors…”
12. SNuss | November 16th, 2008 at 11:03 am
Be the firat (first) to correct errors in your party rather than getting exposed in the news media.
Do you mean like these?
William Jefferson: Federal investigators are targeting the Democratic congressman, 58, for allegedly demanding cash and other favors for himself and relatives, in exchange for using his congressional clout to arrange African business deals. A former aide recently pleaded guilty to bribing Jefferson and is cooperating with authorities, and sources familiar with the case say a plea agreement with the lawmaker is being explored.
Barney Frank admitted a lengthy relationship with a male hooker who ran a bisexual prostitution service out of Frank’s apartment.
(Not to mention his cover-up of the Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac financial collapse)
Gerry Studds admitted to having sexual relations with a 17-year-old male page.
Congressman Mel Reynolds, the Democrat convicted of 12 charges, including sex with 16-year-old Beverly Heard and asking her to take pornographic photographs of a 15-year old,
I could post many more. So, don’t pretend that Democrats have any semblance of moral superiority in the political arena. When Republicans committing misdeeds are found out, they usually lose their positions. Democrats seem to even reward such actions. Jefferson was to be given a chairmanship, before his bribery story got too much publicity. Studds served several terms afterward.
A strong Conservative message WILL resonate with the American people, just as it did in 1994.
Just remember: You Democrats now control the Executive and Congressional branches of government. There is no one else for you to blame. So, in two years, YOU will be judged by the American people. Let us see if history will repeat itself.

What a nonsense question to pose. Does that mean that left-wing men prefer, oh I don’t know, say, Hillary Clinton? Or Maxine Waters? Or Barney Frank?
14. Pat Cunningham | November 16th, 2008 at 12:45 pm
Ross seems not to have understood my post, which is about the sexism of some right-wing men. His questions about Clinton, Waters and Frank make no sense whatever and are completely irrelevant. But then, this is the same Ross who tried to tell us a few weeks ago that Rush Limbaugh is not a racist. Is that funny or what?
15. swamprat | November 16th, 2008 at 2:35 pm
snuss. “When Republicans committing misdeeds are found out, they usually lose their positions.”
Do you mean like when Bush, Bernanke, and Paulson stole $770 billion of the taxpayer’s money? It’s called fraud and is much worse than any that you posted above.
16. SNuss | November 16th, 2008 at 5:59 pm
Stupid quote: “Do you mean like when Bush, Bernanke, and Paulson stole $770 billion of the taxpayer’s money?”
Didn’t the Democratically-controlled CONGRESS vote on this, and could only pass it after ADDING another $150 Billion of pork to the bill? Not to mention Chris Dodd, B.H.O., and Barney Frank covering up for Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac. Seems like a LOT of fraud going on.
17. Craig Knauss | November 16th, 2008 at 7:26 pm
The Dems have only controlled Congress since January 2007, SNuss. Where have you been? The groundwork for this occurred years ago, when the Repubs pushed to deregulate everything they saw. Look at the airlines. There’s another deregulation success story.
18. SNuss | November 16th, 2008 at 8:01 pm
And the Dems went along for the ride, silent as the grave. And their allies, like Obama’s friends at ACORN, intimidated banks into making sub-prime loans, helping to create a “perfect storm” for the financial meltdown. FYI, Barney Frank, and others, have been covering for Freddie & Fannie for a lot longer than the last two years.
19. swamprat | November 16th, 2008 at 8:42 pm
snuss. The democrats voted on the bill after being threatened by the 3 stooges that if they didn’t, they would be responsible for an immediate depression. The Republicans were clued in to let the Dems take the fall. The $150 billion was added to get the Repubs to sign. The $770 billion was to go to the banks to lend. But so far none has been used for that. Instead it has gone for bonuses and to buy other banks. And we have not had a depression (yet). Now Paulson says he will use the money for something else. There is no oversight on this money by the way. Maybe he will split it with the other 2 idiots. They are all liars.
Paulson is the same guy who was CEO of Goldman and pushed for the deregulation of banks in 2004. That deregulation is the main cause of the mess we are in. He pocketed $500 million tax free for that one. And Goldman is one of the banks he is bailing out.
Acorn is not responsible no matter how hard you try to make a connection. Sub-prime loans went to all classes of people. You need to learn what sub-prime means.
I hope to see perp walks soon. Paulson, Bernanke, Bush? But you are more worried about bashing Dems above so don’t pay any attention as they loot the treasury.
By the way you forgot to add Nixon and Agnew to your list. Or Jack Abramhoff.
Sorry to hijack the thread Pat. But snuss has an infatuation with perverts that I had to address.
20. Pat Cunningham | November 16th, 2008 at 8:48 pm
SNuss: You’re wrong about ACORN. Give it up. The wacky theories about ACORN are so October. They didn’t catch on then, and they ain’t gonna catch on now — except among far right-wingers, whose efforts to smear Obama came up waaaaaay short.

U of Idaho is NOT a bastion of intellect–and beside, caribou barbie WHO IS NOT SMART, took went to 6 colleges in 6 years to get that degree. How can anyone think someone who cannot answer simple questions (see Katie Couric interview) is intelligent? She couldn\’t remember the names of ANY newspapers or magazines she read, probably because she doesn\’t read any. She let a witch doctor pray for her to lead the state–how smart is that? She doctored billings to the state of Alaska when she figured they were illegal and found out she shouldn\’t bill the state for her brood\’s joy rides.

I find her very attractive, as made up by professional make-up artists, etc. Just like anyone, pros can make you look good.
But, none of the hunting, 80’s Aqua-net anchor, or 80’s beauty pageant pics do much for me………………..
