Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.”

Obama smart to go easy on Lieberman

The president-elect is SHOWING himself to be more of a bridge-builder than a vengeful politician — which, of course, is an easier choice for a winner than a loser.

Still, I can’t help but wonder how the Republicans would have treated one of their own who had acted with the kind of disloyalty Joe Lieberman demonstrated.

If you want to “wonder how the Republicans would have treated one of their own who had acted with the kind of disloyalty” I suppose you could dig up info on when James Jeffords became an independent, or when several senate Republicans did not vote to impeach Bill Clinton, or info on any of the Reupublicans in the Clinton Administration like Bill Cohen. Look how they have been treated. I don’t know, but you might be able to draw a comparison.
