Bill O’Reilly’s dumbest comment ever (a difficult achievement): The Internet has a liberal bias
November 22nd, 2008 at 02:24pm Pat Cunningham
The Internet is a medium open to the opinions of whoever bothers to post them — be they commies, fascists, vegetarians, Kiwanians, stamp collectors, cross-dressers or fans of Alan Keyes.
But Fox News superstar Bill O’Reilly SAYS the Net is dominated, as if by conspiracy, by liberals.

Don’t worry, Pat. O’Reilly couldn’t possibly equal your record of dumb comments, in either quantity OR quality, no matter how hard he tries.

The internet comment makes no sense at all. Also, where does he get that newspapers are mostly liberal? Their endorsements over the past several presidential elections are overwhelmingly for the more conservative candidate, mostly Republicans. At this time, newspapers aren’t leaning either way. They’re going broke and worried about survival.

O’Rielly, as usual, is completely correct. What i like about him is he backs up his opinions with facts, whereas Chris “tingles” Matthews and Keith Overbite just spew their personal opinions. I respect someone willling to backup what they say and the left hate him because he can always back it up. The truth hurts and makes them angry.

Ok. So that’s Bill’s dumbest comment. Wouldn’t it be nice to rank them? My number one dumbest comment is Obama’s “I’ve, uh, visited, uh, 57 states, and uh, I’ve got one or two left to go”. Second is “Who’s that a bust of?” by Al Gore asked while looking at the bust of a very identifiable likeness of George Washington. Third is “I’m a journalist”, by Pat Cunningham.

Oh, really? Try the following transcript from the November 12 “Worst Person in the World” segment of “Countdown with Keith Olbermann”:
“…..But our winner tonight, Bill-O the clown. Sometimes it’s inflated self-importance, sometimes it’s a war that’s being fought only inside his own head, but sometimes it’s just bad research. Questioning the media searching public records about Joe Wurzelbacher, Bill-O trotted out one of the oldest cliches in his book, and complained.
O’REILLY: Where’s the ACLU? Aren’t they the privacy people? Can you imagine if a Republican did this to a Democrat. It’s unbelievable. No ACLU? We haven’t seen any of them. Let’s get this. Let’s get this. So we want to say there’s no ACLU in Ohio helping Joe the Plumber.
OLBERMANN: Bill, did you check the website? Here’s something by the executive director of the ACLU of Ohio. See it’s from last month, October, letter to the editor she wrote to the Cleveland newspaper with the headline, “Government Snoops have no right to pry into news makers personal information. I was deeply disturbed to hear that state officials approved the use of government databases to obtain information about Joseph Wurzelbacher, also known as Joe the Plumber.”
Let’s see, appalling, unethical, no adequate checks, immediate action, safe-guards, ethical procedures, unfair breaches of our privacy. No, nothing there. Bill’s right, the ACLU hasn’t done a damned thing about it. Chowder head.”
Keep drinking the Kool-Aid, Juice.

With all due respect, Pat, I must disagree with your choice of the dumbest comment ever uttered by Bill-O the Clown.
As you are probably aware, Bill-O’s once seemingly invincible ratings dominance has been severely dented lately by a new strain of Kryptonite in the form of MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow. On numerous occasions over the past few months, O’Reilly has had his “clock cleaned” by the dynamic duo in the all-important 25-54 “money” demographic. Here’s O’Reilly’s preposterous take on his sudden reversal of fortunes:
“While FOX News continues to rule, there are major problems with the Nielsen ratings system. There have been wild swings in the ratings that have benefited MSNBC. We’ve asked for an explanation of those wild swings. Nielsen can’t explain them, and those swings are unprecedented in the television business.”
“An examination of Nielsen shows that their personnel is overwhelmingly liberal. Twenty-six Nielsen executives, including CEO Susan Whiting, 26 have donated to the Democrats. Two to the Republicans.”
“The bottom line on this is there may be some big-time cheating going on in the ratings system, and we hope the feds will investigate. Any fraud in the television rating system affects all Americans.”
Yeah, that’s right…..Bill-O is demanding a FEDERAL investigation into his declining ratings!
I think we may have just discovered O’Reilly’s “jump the shark” moment.

Sorry, Sparky, but even President-elect Obama’s worst gaffe can’t possibly compare to this doozy from your beloved failure-in-chief, the Great Decider:
“And I, unfortunately, have been to too many disasters as president.” –George W. Bush, discussing flooding in the Midwest, Washington, D.C., June 17, 2008
Well said, Mr. President.

“This is the most acurate report on this site…” Orlando Clay brain your an Idiot!!! is the second.
9. David Johnson | November 22nd, 2008 at 6:50 pm
Orlando, President Bush was obviously commenting on the fact that this country has endured a number of disasters that exceeded historical proportions. I fail to see how that comment is dumb or untrue. During his presidency we have had the 911 event, several historically devastating hurricane, record flooding and droughts. He also had to respond to numerous international catastrophes, including the massive tsunami of Christmas 2006(?). So Orlando, how does a comment like that logically equate in anybodies mind to a comment by a Presidential candidate (now soon to be President) that he visited 57 states? Your guy is obviously an idiot of enormous proportion and you may be just too intellectually deficient to figure that out.

My favorite contender for dumbest would have to be:
“Constitutionally, gentlemen, you have the President, the Vice President and the Secretary of State in that order, and should the President decide he wants to transfer the helm to the Vice President, he will do so. He has not done that. As of now, I am in control here, in the White House, pending return of the Vice President and in close touch with him. If something came up, I would check with him, of course.”
spoken in the hours after the assasination attempt on President Reagan.

Bill O’Reilly has the most intelligent news program out there. Mr. Cunningham, I know you don’t care who I am, but I don’t give a fig for pundits like you. You only exist to stir up arguments. If I hadn’t seen O’Reilly’s name, I wouldn’t have read your tidbit here, because I’ve learned that your comments do nothing for anyone.
Give me news. Give me quality information. Help me learn the facts so that I know the important issues in our world. Leave out the stupidity and bullying.
12. TBruce Watson | November 23rd, 2008 at 6:51 am
It’s a well known fact that Mr. Cunningham (and his wife) are both liberals who have made a career writing for the newspapers. It stands to reason he would get defensive when Mr. O’Reilly makes such a forgone charge. Who wants to bet me a paycheck that Mr. Cunningham voted for “change” in this last election ??????
13. Bob Ham | November 23rd, 2008 at 7:16 am
Wow, Pat you really have them hot and heavy with this one. Near as I can count it seems like you are on the losing end and should be. Dave Johnson nailed it right away. Don’t think we, who were not taken in by your Great One, have forgotton 8 years of crap from you liberals commenting on Bush and his mis-speaks.
Obama, on the other hand, mis-speaks every time he opens his mouth, unless of course he has has personal teleprompter with him. I wonder what he would have sounded like if he had been the one who had 911 to deal with. Probably, ugh, mmm gee they sure did a lot of damage, ugh, mmmmm we’ll make the pay for this ugh, mmm, you can count on it. One of your other leader’s great comments which never happened!!!!!!!
Is there really such a thing as a PORTABLE TELEPROMPTER?
If so Obama better get one quick.
14. Pat Cunningham | November 23rd, 2008 at 8:32 am
TBruce Watson: For your information, I’m not married. By the way, who wants to bet me that Mr. Watson voted for the idiot governor of Alaska in this last election?
15. David Barrett | November 23rd, 2008 at 8:48 am
Bob Harn,
Wow! Are you conservatives really reduced to claiming that Obama does not speak well?!? Well, good luck with that line of attack!
16. Pat Cunningham | November 23rd, 2008 at 10:53 am
David Barrett: You’re right about the right-wingers’ silly contention that Obama is not a good public speaker without a prepared text and a Teleprompter. He’s probably the best orator in American politics, and he easily got the better of McCain in all three of their debates. But the Obamaphobes are desperate in their search for something with which to disparage the man. Everything they’ve tried, from Bill Ayers to crapola about socialism, has flopped. Now they’re lapsing into what amounts to self-parody. It’s kind of fun, in a way, and I’m glad so many of them choose my humble blog for their venting. It keeps the rest of us amused.

http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/57states.asp
the above link is the story of how the Obama 57 states gaffe got started and it has the video. There is a long pause in between when he says fifty and seven to indicate it is a gaffe.
This will probably be the new parroted phrase by kooks:
“Obama thinks there’s 57 states!”
just like the lie
“Al Gore said he invented the internet!”
It’s to bad there are so many liars and people who believe them who claim to be conservatives.

Just like when B.H.O. forgot that Russia can veto a Security Council resolution? Or that he plans to raise capital gains taxes to “punish” stockbrokers? Or, that he couldn’t disown Rev. Wright? There are plenty of REAL issues on him to discuss, without making things up.
19. SNuss | November 23rd, 2008 at 11:28 am
BTW, as to the ACLU comment: They are ACTIVELY helping NAMBLA (North American Man-Boy Love Association), but nothing more than a passing comment on the overt violation of a private citizen’s rights by several government agencies, just because he asked Obama a question that caused him embarrassment.

It isn’t that surprising that voices from the left are more prevalent on the Internet, especially considering the understanding some of the higherups have of the Internet.

I’m not much of an O’reilly fan, but is is more entertaining to me than Hannity & Combs, Olbermann, Limbaugh, etc.
But, he says something pretty far out everyday. He can drift prety far…..
I think he outdoes himself with something more outlandish everyday.
I like it when he and Al Franken are (even) in the same vicinity of each other. I like Al Franken, just not so much his politics. Same with Bill O’reilly.
But, sometimes, O’reilly is right, too.
23. Juice | November 24th, 2008 at 5:27 pm
Pat, O’Rielly always differentiates his opinions from facts directed at certain stories. It’s his Opinion that most of the internet is liberally biased. When he states facts about any stories he gives sources and reason. I think he explains things very clearly. That’s why he is number 1 on cable and the “Tingle Twins” at BSNBC are last and are just 100% opinion.
