If they REALLY want to serve, they can. They just don’t have to “tell”.
So, if these guys (like our friend pictured above) really want to serve that badly, they can, actually. I don’t believe that they do, however.
Once they lift “Don’t ask, Don’t tell”, I’ll bet homosexual enlistment either remains exactly the same, or drops.
So, I don’t buy their protests, moans, groans, and complaints.
If they want to serve, go serve. Where there is a will, there is a way, and, if you want it bad enough, go get it.
besides, it was bad enough sharing barracks rooms with others who brought girls up in the middle of the night and got it on with two others trying to sleep. It would be worse with two guys……

I’d like to add to my last comment.
I’d say they’re welcome to serve as log as they meet all criterion as required by the military, and are able to serve in their MOS (Mission of Service) with acceptable service.
No exceptions, and no unreasonable expectation put on them, either.
Put them in the MOS in accordance with their abilities and aptitude.
I knew some Marines that I thought might have been gay, but, they were good Marines, and I served beside them, and they beside me. I’d have never left them, or any Marine, for that matter (and didn’t) behind, nor would they have.
Were they gay, or not? I don’t know, I didn’t ask, they didn’t tell, and as a whole, nobody really cared. Nobody.
Can you meet the requirements, and do the job? Then you deserve a chance.
