Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.”

Conservative columnist Peggy Noonan (above) SAYS the mainstream media are mischievously — and insultingly — touting Sarah Palin as the leader of the Republican Party.

They can’t have it both ways. Palin brought additional exposure to the ticket during the campaign, and since she appears to want to run in 2012, it’s going to continue. Actually, I think Palin’s overexposure will lead to her eventual demise as viable candidate for national office.

I am not sure if Gov. Palin will have a fair shot in 2012 since they will dig Tina Fey out of some acting gig to make fun of her again. I had an opportunity to see Gov. Palin in Iowa and she gives a very good and informative speech–without a teleprompter. She is not the person portrayed on SNL or the snippets that Keith Olbermann (the Edward R. Murrow wannabe hack) plays. It is kind of strange that even though she lost the election, I have still seen her face on the news almost as much as Obama’s. God forbid if there is a confident woman out there who unashamedly stands by her beliefs. We see what they did to Hillary.

    Steve,
I don’t think your idea that Barack Obama cannot speak well without a teleprompter will get much traction, no matter how many times you repeat it. The whole country saw Barack Obama in 3 debates without a teleprompter, speaking very well and not making any gaffes, much to the consternation of the Republicans who were eager to pounce on the slightest mistake. I distinctly remember all the Republican and Conservatives conceding that he had spoken well. They even were claiming that his obvious appeal and popularity was solely based on his eloquence and ‘fine words.’
For you to now claim that he cannot speak and makes gaffes without a teleprompter just makes you look ridiculous.

Dave, I don’t know who you think I am, but I have never posted here before, until yesterday. So, I have not “repeated” this fact “many times.” Wow, he did the debates without a teleprompter, YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO DO DEBATES WITHOUT A TELEPROMPTER. That is the whole point of a “debate.” So, I guess you agree that Olbermann and Matthews are fools since you did not mention them at all. His eloquence and “fine words” are not his, they were written for him. I also do not like bands that do not write their own lyrics, they are usually musical hacks. I just wish that Obama supporters were as smart as the man they voted for. All I have to say, “Joe Biden,” the gaffe machine. They shut him up quick after he became the VP choice since he was constantly contradicting Obama. Thanks for the “debate” Dave, and guess what? I didn’t even use a teleprompter. Now who looks ridiculous?

    Steve,
You are not making any sense at all. So I guess that makes it you who looks ridiculous.

  • 6. Steve  |  November 28th, 2008 at 10:55 pm

OK Dave, it is official, don’t speak when adults are talking. Just pay attention and slowly I will educate you, then when you feel like sitting at the “big boy” table you can rant about the last sentence I wrote, as usual. Maybe if you look above the last sentence and look at the meat of the argument, wait, I was starting to treat you like an adult again, I am sorry. I know you don’t understand me because I make sense. Go have some more Kool-Aid and rest your weary head. Am I crazy, or does this guy seem to think that debates are done with teleprompters?

    Steve,
What is this nonsense?!? Are you imitating Bill O’Reilley or something? You have no power over anything here except your own comments. You are talking total nonsense and looking even more ridiculous than before.

I have read your Blog Dave, you are not impressing anyone. Keep to your computers and leave social commentary to people with social skills.

  • 9. David Barrett  |  November 29th, 2008 at 7:34 pm

    Steve,
What delusions of granduer you exhibit, as though anyone cares what you think and as though you have the authority to banish people for other people’s blogs. What a hoot! I hope you keep posting comments here, Steve. Your inability to think and write coherently and logically is a self-refutation of your positions.

  • 10. Pat Cunningham  |  November 29th, 2008 at 8:05 pm

Dave: When Steve says “you are not impressing anyone,” he presumes to speak for everyone — that is, everyone with what he calls “social skills.” He’s almost a self-parody, isn’t he?

    Pat,
Can you book Steve for another week? He just may be the next Andy Kaufman.

  • 12. Billybeermonicagar  |  November 29th, 2008 at 11:02 pm

    Steve,

Keep up the good work. I look forward to reading your comments.

OK Dave, let’s be straight. Your Blog sucks hard and so does Patsy’s. Here are some other facts for you that you did not seem to understand in the past. A.) No, people do not use teleprompters in debates to begin with you dolt. B.) No, I cannot stop you from using Pat’s ineffectual, credulous, and useless excuse of a Blog. Nobody read his crap when it was in the paper, that is why he has a Blog. I love toying with you because you get so hyper like a little barking dog. “What? I don’t understand? Are you serious?” I have a realistic set of “social skills” that cut through the crap and I am not here to make you “feel good about yourself.” See a therapist for that. You want to talk about self-important? I am not the one who has a Blog to tell people what I think, like someone out there really cares. I don’t give a crap what you think since you look on the web and regurgitate the ideas and words of others. I do not see any original thought or insight here. You are just a couple of “yes men” for the Blago administration and that is why our Democratically ran state can’t even pay it’s own bills. You can’t even use the minds you were given. Keep on writing (I mean regurgitating), nobody cares.

    Thanks Billy!

    Steve,
Fantastic! I don’t know how much Pat is paying you to provide comic relief here, but you should ask for a raise. You are doing fantastic work. This last bit where you talk about the worthlessness of the blog that you yourself are using as a platform for your views is priceless. Great stuff! I also like the bit where you accuse others of the lack of social skills your own comments betray. Less original but still effective is the bit where you pretend to completely miss the point of comments to which you respond. Less effective is your building straw men which you then attatck. That has been done to death. But overall, very good! I eagerly await your next comments.

  • 16. Steve  |  November 30th, 2008 at 10:57 am

Dave, I am surprised you didn’t call me a fascist since you want to use other tired liberal phrases like “straw man” arguments. I know this is your defense mechanism when people crap on your ideas. You can draw of breath of relief because I have to return to my real job in the real world tomorrow. I am getting tired of educating retards on how the world really works. Maybe if you would have actually gotten out of your basement and lived a “real” and not virtual life, you would not so easily be offended. I am sorry, but a guy who makes love to computers all day should not talk about social skills. Maybe for Christmas vacation I will visit your site and embarrass you in front of the two people who read it. Yes, I am expressing my opinions, because what you pawn off as “facts” is nothing but trash. I like to bring sociopaths with Blogs down a notch to show them that they are still vulnerable people. I am glad you are “eagerly awaiting” my next comments because that is all you have to live for. That is sad as hell. P.S. Pat doesn’t even have a real job, how could he pay me?
