Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.”

Kathleen Parker, who was savaged by some of her fellow right-wingers for having disparaged Sarah Palin, probably will get more of the same for writing THIS.

Excellent column by Kathleen Parker. Role models do matter, and I’m hoping her comment about the Obamas having an impact on the African American community is correct. During the campaign, Obama talked about the importantance of fathers taking responsibility for their families. I also wonder what would have happened during the campaign if it had been Obama who had a daughter pregnant out-of-wedlock, or if it had been Obama who was divorced after cheating on his first wife. Rightly, these were not issues during the campaign and were not brought up by Obama. Would the reserse have been true?
