Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.”

The GOP’s McCarthy gene

Neil Gabler ARGUES that Joe McCarthy, not Barry Goldwater, was the father of modern Republican conservatism.

OK Demotards, I have to go back to work tomorrow and I wanted to leave you with a gem from the past that you have failed to elaborate on: “Thank you for calling me the “F” word–fascist. It is one of the most tossed around and least understood words in the English vocabulary. It is usually used by liberals to label the people that protect them, like the military or police. I was in the Airborne Infantry (paratrooper) for 8 years we were always called “fascists” by Che Guevara T-shirt wearing dolts that regurgitate the lies that their Community College Prof.s told them (a.k.a. people who have never worked in their lives nor have done anything with their lives except complain about the system that supports their comfortable lifestyle). This is the first line of defense for people who cannot form an argument or defend their current beliefs. “I will call you a name since I cannot come-up with a retort to the information you have provided.” I did not say that Maddow should be silenced or censored, she is entitled to her opinions and that is what makes this country great. If everyone thought the same, it would be a very boring world. She can think that the country who made her rich and educated with a full stomach is also an “evil empire.” That is her opinion, these are simply people who have never suffered in their lives, but complain about everything. Talk to someone from the former Soviet Union or Iraq, we should count our lucky stars that we were born in this country everyday. Let’s not get confused, just because most journalists are liberals, does not mean all liberals are journalists. You have one-liners Pat, but you cannot refute the evidence I have put before you. Nor have you even attempted. I know you do not want to expose your level of misinformation and get embarrassed in front of your sycophants, but that is what happens when you expose your self to public scrutiny. Let’s look at “fascism” shall we? I know you think you know what it is, but the way you use that word, you clearly do not know it’s meaning. The true and original “fascists” were liberals, just like you. You don’t believe me? NAZI’s were national “socialists,” hence the name. Let’s look at their beliefs: free health care, guaranteed jobs, confiscated inherited wealth, free public education (including higher-education), sent the Church packing, promoted pagan spirituality and supported a powerful central government that became a form of welfare-state. The NAZI’s also hated smokers, supported abortion clinics, loved gun control and euthanasia. The NAZI’s hated the free market, gave a pension to the elderly and maintained a quota system in their universities. The NAZI’s also started to perfect organic farming and alternative medicine. Do you recognize any of these policies from modern American politics? Woodrow Wilson was the first American president with fascist tendencies and they really took off with FDR who copied many of the ideas from Hitler and Mussolini. I can go into much more detail if you would like, but let me tell you this. I have experienced fascism first hand. Many of my liberal/avowed Marxist professors in school would like for everyone to express their views in class, as long as they are what “they” believe in. If you express an opposite opinion in a liberal’s class, you are called a “fascist” or not called on again. For simply expressing another view-point. This takes place in classrooms all across America everyday. That is fascism. So is calling a person a “fascist” for espousing a different world view. Especially to a person that has actually done something with their life and defended the values that our country holds dear.” Now you retards can talk about me all you want and stroke each others egos. I have to go live in the real world now, so you are free to rewrite history and lie all you want. I know you want to believe that McCarthy started the modern conservative movement, but again, you are using the argument of another. I challenge you all to really look at, and study fascism and see how much it has in common with today’s liberal progressive movement. Then ask, who is really the fascist? Pat, cut back on the alcohol and Dave, try to make some “real” friends and crack open a book (that does not include computer manuals). Maybe I will stop by your site over Christmas Dave. Remember, I don’t care what you think of me, and people don’t really care what you think. When are you guys gonna’ get married? Oh, I forgot about Prop. 8, sorry. Now put your hockey helmets on, get on that short bus and get your fat butts to the library! I am outta’ here punks!
