Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.”

Notice: Light posting for a while

For the first time since the launch of Applesauce 11 months ago, I didn’t post anything yesterday. I’ve caught a bug of some kind and consequently will be laid low for a few days.

Yeah, I know, you’re wondering where you can turn for truthiness during this crisis.  Hey, that’s your problem, not mine. My head remains full of wisdom; I’m just unable, under the circumstances, to share much of it with you.

My greatest regret is that this illness delays my full participation in the War on Christmas, which I had been eagerly anticipating as a means of annoying Bill O’Reilly and Lou Dobbs. Oh, well.

Meanwhile, consider this post an open thread on which you can vent about anything that’s on your mind.

One more thing: No flowers, please. I hate flowers. They’re unmanly.

So sorry to hear that you’re under the weather, friend. Take care and get plenty of rest, as we’re going to need you. Just because the Cons lost the election doesn’t mean they’re going to go away for a while and let the big boys begin to clean up the stench of failure left behind by the Bush regime. They’re still going to be flinging their crazy ideas and their pretzel logic at us full force.

Not to worry, Pat. Keith Olbermann has got you covered on this one.

Well, Pat, if you really did turn green from your illness, you should be perfect as the Grinch, when you plan your attack, for the War on Christmas.

But, I wish you a speedy recovery.

Sorry to hear that Pat. Get better soon. At your advanced age you can’t be too careful.
I’ll look forward to your take on the new Clinton … oops, sorry-my mistake, I mean Obama cabinet. Its so hard to keep track of all this change you can believe in.

Sending Pat some NyQuil, Zinc and OJ. Figures, I finally get back to Applesauce and Pat is sick. Grrrrr

Sorry you are sick, Pat. Hope you have a good book to read.

When you feel better, please look at the potential Capital plan for Illinois. If Jim Sacia is right, this could actually help Illinois get
    some folks to work.

    Best regards.

Speckle: Thanks anyway, but don’t send me O.J. He just got sentenced to prison 20 minutes ago. Heh, heh.

Maybe George Ryan would like a new cellmate, unless that spot is being reserved for Blago.

    Pat: One word — Bushmills.
