Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.”

Fox News pundits say bad economy is fiction authored by liberal pro-Obama media

Bill O’Reilly and Karl Rove actually say THIS STUFF with straight faces. That can’t be very easy to do.

They didn’t say it was fiction. They said the MSM is exaggerating the economy’s problems, to put more blame on Bush, and provide cover for The Messiah, when he doesn’t magically reverse the country’s financial woes in short order.

Pat-Error alert! The link “THIS STUFF” connects to an America blog site with a story on the Chicago Trib cooperating with the FBI. It also has an ad for a Mexican Riviera Gay Cruise. No thanks.

Mike: Thanks for the heads-up. Problem fixed.

Exaggerating? Tell that to the 533,000 folks who suddenly found themselves on the unemployment line in November. And I haven’t heard of any companies that either went bankrupt or enacted massive job cuts complaining about the press inflating the numbers. Face the truth, Cons: When President Clinton left office, he handed the Great Decider and the Republicans the keys to a Cadillac. After eight years of telling us how wonderful life would be under the conservative ideology, that Cadillac is now something that can barely be powered by the feet of Fred Flintstone.

With help from gasbags like O’Reilly and Hannity, we’ve had eight years of conservatism shoved down our throats and the end result is a lab experiment gone terribly awry. It’s way past time for the Con clowns to step aside and let Team Obama get to work on restoring the incalculable damage that the Republicans have done to this nation, let alone their own party.

And don’t worry, snuss, most of us on the left know that this mess can’t be fixed overnight. In fact, it may take an entire generation. But we’ll get it done, despite the epic failure known as the Bush Legacy.

Perhaps you were in some kind of progressive coma at that time. Bush inherited a recession that began in the last quarter of BillyBob’s second term brought on by the bursting of the tech bubble.
That’s a fact. Check it out.

That sounds like an interesting cruise, to say the least……..

Mr. Carroll is right on it not being entirely the Bush Administration’s fault.

What is the next step. How do we reverse what has been happening.

What can we do so that my children aren’t cleaning this mess up in their adulthood?

We chose our President, now, let’s just wait and see what he does to correct our trajectory……
