More bad news for Obamaphobes
December 15th, 2008 at 04:29pm Pat Cunningham
Barack Obama’s office REPORTED today that an internal investigation “has affirmed the public statements of the President-elect that he had no contact with the governor [Rod Blagojevich] or his staff, and that the President-elect’s staff was not involved in inappropriate discussions with the governor or his staff over the selection of his successor as US Senator.”
Public release of the report has been delayed until next at the request of federal prosecutors.
Most right-wing loons will scoff at these denials, of course, but to no avail. Prosecutors would know if the Obama camp was lying about any of this.
So, it’s back to the drawing board for the racists and other nut cases who just can’t accept the results of last month’s election. What will they come up with next? Poor fools.

We have bigger worries than this right now.
Iran is acting up, sending a Red Crescent ship to support Muslims in Gaza, and they’re poking President Obama in the chest.
Russia is running joint military exercises with the Cubans.
Our economy is in the tank.
Who’s wasting resources on this stuff.
The guy has more pressing issues, than to waste any time on this stuff.
I’m not his # 1fan, by any stretch, but, c’mon…………………..
There’s a lot worse problems rising right now…………

EchoCharlie: Are you feeling all right? Your comment is fairly reasonable.

Pat, Pat, Pat….
You seem to forget that Obama said he has had no contact with Blago. There are however photographs even in the first part of Dec with them together.
I guess he has the “Hussain Syndrome”. This must be a body double that is shown with Blago.
So much for change, with the appointment of Arne Ducun, Obama’s Hyde Park, buddy that shaped Obamas’ view on school and the foundation Obama was in charge of.
Why is for change, do we get the leader of the failed Chicago school system, to be in chare of education. They are about the only school district with a lower graduation rate then Rockford’s 45%

Here’s some reporting from the real world on the matter….

Echo,
While I agree with you on most of this one, I have to take issue with, “…and they’re poking President Obama in the chest.” Your calendar is running a bit fast. I’d say at least 5 weeks fast. Obama isn’t president until Jan. 20, 2009. Do you mean they’re poking President Bush in the chest?
And a Red Crescent ship? Do you also complain about Red Cross ships? How about other relief agencies as well? Not every Muslim is a terrorist.
And Russia has been running exercises with Cuba since Castro took over, back in the late 50’s. And we have been running ours.

Here is what i can’t figure out. Why did it take about a week to discover “that the President-elect’s staff was not involved in inappropriate discussions with the governor or his staff over the selection of his successor as US Senator.” At most, that should have taken 24 hours.
I think this indicates an inability, at this point, of the transition team to react well to events which they don’t control.I would suggest that they best get better at it.

Thanks Pat. I’m just looking trying to, realistically, vilify such trivialities in accusing Obama of everything that’s being, currently, accused. We have so many more pressing matters, it just seems like a waste of resources, and our President-Elect just doesn’t and won’t have time to deal with these things.
He’s going to have been seen with our Governor at some point, or another, both past and recent. He was our Senator. It’s really stretching, in my opinion, to think he was trying to gain anything from the “sale” of his Senate seat. We need our President-Elect’s attention where it belongs.
A joke that I heard, and thought I’d share (some may have heard this already):
Two inmates of The United States Penitentiary (Marion, IL) are out in “the yard” getting their morning exercise, when one inmate turns to the other and says: “You know what? The food in here was definitely better when you were Governor”.
You’re right, Craig. It is currently President Bush’s chest taking the pokes. And I’ll admit, anything from Iran right now is very questionable to me. I know US agencies are watching this very closely in consideration of this ship actually being a means of providing cover for an attempt by Teheran’s al-Quds Force to spread its influence and possibly ferrying intelligence agents into Gaza. Remember, Iranian influence over Hamas has been growing at a rapid rate, as of late.
I could be wrong, and hope that I am. I certainly will concede error, but, I’m leery of the whole scenario…
And, you’re right about Russia. I just see their behavior as antagonistic and in support and bolster of the ever-growing worldwide anti-US sentiment. The “Mother Russian Bear” is ever growing to rear up, and take drastic action, in my opinion, to reclaim Her former glory.
