Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.”

The lasting effects of the Bush administration’s war on science

Harvard psychologist Steven Pinker SAYS he was initially skeptical of arguments that the Bush administration has been more hostile to science than its predecessors, “but I have now been turned around, and I see that the accusations are correct, that there is a Republican war on science, and that it does seem unprecedented.”

We’ve been setting records for snow levels and cold temps. The ice cap is actually increasing…. This just proves global warming…. None of the crap these idiots spew makes sense yet the libs just eat is up. Here’s an alert that people should pay attention to: Anytime you read something from a Harvard graduate, please take it with a grain of salt and understand that these people are not right upstairs.

I’d say that GW Bush is a Harvard graduate, but that doesn’t mean anything in this context. He hasn’t written anything, so there’s nothing of his to read.

\"The ice cap is actually increasing…. \" What\’s your source for that bit of enlightenment? Bill O.? NASA photographs CLEARLY show the ice caps are shrinking dramatically. And when they get smaller, evaporation from the ocean increases, which means more precipitation, e.g. snow, over land. If you don\’t believe me, ask anyone who has lived downwind of one of the Great Lakes. It snows like hell until the lake freezes over. Then snowfall decreases considerably. It\’s not a real difficult concept to understand. Even for a intellectually-challenged conservative.

    Milt,
GW’s a Yalie, a legacy. He would have had to get into Harvard on his own merits. That’s why he’s a Yalie.

His MBA is from Harvard. He got into Harvard on the merits of his checkbook.
