I mentioned Terri Schiavo HERE the other day, and now, by coincidence, comes NEWS that certain conservative forces are bent on revisiting the Schiavo case for political purposes.Â

These conservative groups will fight the nomination to their own detriment. I agree with you Pat. The Terri Schiavo case was the turning point in the influence the far right had in this country.

I’ve interpreted the 2008 election results as a rejection of conservativism by the majority of Americans. Here’s what the problem will be though: As in the case of rejecting George Ryan, you have to replace the person or ideology you are rejecting with something competent. Rod Blagojevich was not a competent substitute. Obama will have to show his competence in his actions and policies or the right-wing will come back again.
