Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.” |

Seems the Obamaniacs are far more \\"sheeple\\" than Rush\\\’s supporters. Voters voted for him, and didn\\\’t even know what he stood for, other than \\"change\\". He lost 15 approval points already, so just wait a few more months, and you of the Left may not feel so smug.

I’m really enjoying feeling “smug”. After 8 miserable years of anti environmentalism, disregard for diplomacy, etc. all done in about as smug a manner as can be imagined, I have no problem with the change. I thought the repubs would have a little more fortitude…they are already acting like little children who’s feelings are hurt.

Republicans say the darnest things. Most of us democrats know why we voted for him. The people who voted for him without knowing what he stood for, did so because they knew what the republicans stood for. The president is going to lose approval points because of the mess this country was left in. He will need to make changes that even his supports may not like, but the changes must be made to fix all the wrong the republican party has done. Smug you say? Not anywhere as smug as the republicans have been the pass 8 years. Republicans told us that we were unAmerican if we didn’t show support for Bush. Well not its your time to be an American, but instead all we seem to here is whining, so let me give some advice. As democrats have been told the last eight years find another country that will give you the changes America will and move there, oh right the only countries that will allow the rich to trample the poor peoples right are mainly ran by dictators. How long do you think Rush would stay on the air in Iran. Most of us democrats see rush as a comedy show anyway like the Daily show.

Most Americans had no idea what they were voting for, and now they know what they got, and they dont like it. It didnt take long for Obama and the democrats to blow it. There is widespread outrage over this Obama, Democrat spending bill that is going to destroy our economy, and heap debt on generations of Americans. Obama and the democrats have wasted more money in this bill than 5 Iraq wars combined. On another unpopular issue, thousands of Catholic parishioners in the Rockford Diocese are mobilizing to fight the Obama-Democrat effort to prohibit any restrictions on abortion throughout the nation. Obama and the democrats want to eliminate state laws that require common sense measures such as parental notification.
Wow, is there a huge Republican election victory year coming in 2010 or what?

Who are the idiots who keep saying that the Republicans are acting like children? How many times did we have to hear after the 2004 election that Bush stole the election. Bush is not my President. So on and so on. Liberals do have short memories. The rich liberals want everyone in the middle class to sacrifice but not themselves. Al Gore is the biggest example of this. I bet PAT thinks Carter was a good President. Obama so far has not really shown to be much different, he makes ethic rules then immediately breaks them, the king doesn’t have to follow them. He is putting in people who won’t pay their taxes but want to raise them on other people. His stimulus package, is full of pork, to just push through his agenda. He said that there would be no more of this pork.

Sunlight: What planet do you live on?
You say there’s “widespread outrage” over Obama’s stimulus bill. In truth, most Americans support the bill: http://www.gallup.com/poll/114028/Slim-Majority-Supports-Economic-Stimulus-Plan.aspx
You say “Most Americans had no idea what they were voting for, and now they know what they got, and they dont like it.” In truth, nearly two of every three Americans approve of Obama’s performance, according to this poll from Fox News, no less:
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/first100days/2009/01/29/fox-news-poll-teary-eyed-thumbs-obama/
You say there’s “a huge Republican election victory year coming in 2010.” In truth, the polls all show a national trend toward the Democratic Party. If you’ve got polls indicating otherwise, let’s see ‘em.
You tell us of anti-abortion activities among local Catholics, but you fail to note that Catholics are sharply divided on the issue of abortion:
http://www.lemoyne.edu/CENTERSOFEXCELLENCE/CATHOLICTRENDS/LATESTPOLL/tabid/548/Default.aspx
And lastly, you fail to note that most Catholic voters went for Obama:

Do you have any more nonsense to share with us?

“He lost 15 approval points already, so just wait a few more months, and you of the Left may not feel so smug.” snuss, are you on drugs? What 15 points loss? BTW, if Limbutt has all the answers, why doesn’t he run for office? Or is he afraid he would get creamed just like all the rest of the far-right wing jerks? Pat Robertson got real far, didn’t he? Or Newt Ginrich?

I can settle all of this for all of you. Just read the early bible, the one that has not been made politically correct. “….and when Cain killed Abel he travelled to Africa where he layeth up with apes,,,,the result… a being the with the disposition and color of mud” and that should give you a hint as to why the “person” in our beloved white house will continually fall into disfavor in our Christian Nation. Even our Mormon brothers recognized this in their false prophesy. I pray for Mr. Cunningham everyday.

Ronny: I don’t need or want the prayers of bigots like you. The only reason I’m not deleting your comment is that I want other visitors here to see such ugly racism in its unadulterated form.
10. Dave Barrett | February 2nd, 2009 at 11:16 am
Wow, that Ronny is really something! Pat, why do you suppose these whackjobs are coming here to comment?
11. Pat Cunningham | February 2nd, 2009 at 11:25 am
Dave: Beats me. The regulars here include a few racists, but nobody’s ever gone this far. This guy is almost a parody. One wonders if his friends and relatives are all like this. Yipes.
