OK, both President Obama and most Senate Democrats have declared their UNSWERVING SUPPORT of Tom Daschle’s nomination to the top job at Health and Human Services, despite his tax problems.
So, now the stage is set for Daschle to bow out with a modicum of grace. He’s put the administration in a no-win situation, even if he does get confirmed. His tax errors diminish the image the administration wants to advance.
 Moreover, the controversy detracts attention that should be entirely focused on the economic crisis.
