Mighty interesting COINCIDENCE, wouldn’t you say?
Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.” |

Notice how the ordinarily condescending George Will is uncharacteristically deferential to Nobel laureate Paul Krugman:

How weird is THIS?
Personally, I wouldn’t reject the notion out of hand (but I strongly doubt that it will happen).

Some Wall Street insiders are WHINING about President Obama’s proposal to cap the compensation paid to executives at companies receiving federal bailout funds.
If it wasn’t for that darned First Amendment and the free speech rights it affords, we could throw these creeps in jail just for complaining. That’d be sweet, wouldn’t it?

Remember Chris Hedges (above), the commencement speaker who got booed off the stage at Rockford College a few years ago for daring to suggest that the war in Iraq was not a good idea?
Well, Hedges is now painting a SCARY SCENARIO of “social instability” in America.
I think he’s engaging in undue alarmism, but his thoughts are worth pondering.
