Will Burris survive? I have my doubts

You say you want bipartisanship?
Well, Democrats and Republicans alike are LOOKING ASKANCE at the emerging scandal in which Sen. Roland Burris, an appointee of the notorious Rod Blagojevich, finds himself.
Frankly, I think the guy is out of his element — not so much a crook as a schnook.

Outside of an actual indictment for perjury, I don’t think they can get rid of him. Not to say an indictment seems out of the question at this point in time. Tom Cross is no wingnut, and he’s pretty concerned that Burris lied to the House impeachment panel.
From the beginning it was clear Burris was not qualified for the post of U.S. Senator. He was picked by Blago as a poke in the eye of the state Democratic Party, not because he was qualified. And Burris is so stupid and venal that he was unable to see what kind of mess he was getting himself into. Rather, I suspect all he could see was that “U.S. Senator” chiseled on his grandiose mausoleum.
