Civilized conservative encounters the other kind

I had to sympathize with conservative columnist David Brooks when he was blind-sided on C-SPAN this morning by a call from a racist:

This sounds like a crank call.

Wow. I think that caller really shows what’s left of the Republican ‘base’. We really need a two party (at least) political system, but I’m not seeing how the GOP can be a viable party except in the bible belt and among the KKK types throughout the nation. Wonder what that guy thinks of Michael Steele.

David Brooks a conservative? What a joke that is and the chances are the caller was your usual Democrap seminar caller that frequent C-SPAN everyday.

Michael -
Please enlighten us as to what your definition of a conservative is, and why David Brooks isn’t one.

“Unpresidented?” Once again, ROTFLMAO at the typical conservative’s lack of education regarding proper usage of the English language. Simply astounding!
No, snuss, you don’t have to “blindly follow” anybody. Feel free to whine and whimper all you want and pine for the Reagan days of “every man for himself” and “screw the poor.” That’s your right. But please step aside and let the rest of us work towards cleaning up the enormous mess that the GOP saddled us with the past 8 years.

snuss: Nobody’s contending that criticisms of Obama are necessarily racist. David Brooks frequently criticizes Obama, and nobody’s calling him a racist. Did you hear what the caller on that video said? He said, ““We just cannot have eight years of this black man.” Are you or are you not offended by that kind of talk? Please don’t say you aren’t. I await your reply — and I’m going to raise the issue on every one of your comments until I get one.

Just one of many Henry….

Oh, yeah, Jessen. Now there’s a definitive reference. I know when I want accurate information, I always go to some rightwing bible-thumper’s personal blog site for it. And then I get corroborating evidence from Howard Stern’s radio show.

How about some more?

Why thank you, Orlando, for correcting my spelling error.
You whine about President Bush’s mess, while ignoring B.Hussein Obama’s unprecedented spending plan, which proposes to spend more in the next ten years, than was spent in the period between the founding of this Country, and his inauguration.
Pat sez: He said, ““We just cannot have eight years of this black man.” Are you or are you not offended by that kind of talk?
If the worst personal attack on Obama is “this black man”, I would be thankful that something this inane is the most important issue that we have to discuss.
BTW, do YOU object to McCain, and others, being called ” old white guys”?
11. Pat Cunningham | April 5th, 2009 at 9:02 am
snuss: I, too, am an old white guy, and I don’t object to be called that. (BTW, McCain and I were teenagers at the same time for nine months in the mid-1950s.)
I see that you can’t bring yourself to say you’re offended by the racist remark about Obama. Why am I not surprised? You’re just another sniveling little bigot.

Pat, whining about such minutia is just the race-baiting action you Liberals love to use as a smoke-screen, to bypass the real issues being brought up.
Obama portrays himself as a black man. His supporters describe him as the “first black President”. So, how is calling him a black man, racist?
If he had been called a “n****r”, or some other such epithet, I would whole-heartedly condemn the use of such language. But the level of racial nit-picking you Liberals display only serves to show YOUR willingness to use racial bias for your own distorted purposes.
