Charles M. Blow SAYS the rhetoric among right-wingers who feel isolated, angry, betrayed and besieged is “not all just harmless talk.”
UPDATE: A nutcase in Pittsburgh who was afraid that President Obama would take away his guns SHOT AND KILLED three police officers today.
One wonders if this guy was influenced by the paranoid rhetoric of prominent right-wing extremists.
UPDATE II: The assailant in the Pittsburgh incident has been IDENTIFIED as 22-year-old Richard Poplawski. Here’s a photo:
(Note: The article to which I’ve linked just above the photo says Poplawski is opposed to “Zionist propaganda.” Sounds like an all-around lovely guy, doesn’t he?)
UPDATE III: Do reports like this one of eight days ago on CNN feed the paranoia of gun fanatics?:
UPDATE IV: As we see HERE, Glenn Beck of Fox News and Wayne LaPierre of the NRA also have been feeding the paranoia.
