Poor Glenn Beck. When he’s not demonstrating a truly scary degree of mental imbalance, he’s badly fumbling historical references.
Take, for example, THIS EFFORT by Beck to invoke the legacy of Davy Crockett (above) as justification for neo-secessionist tendencies among certain Texans.
I suspect that if old Davy were still with us, he’d skin this clown alive.

I’ve got mixed feelings about THIS.
On the one hand, our experience with the likes of Timothy McVeigh makes it only prudent to be on guard against domestic terrorism.
On the other hand, I don’t like the idea of undue monitoring of your garden-variety wingnuts.

Last week, you may recall, I TOLD YOU about U.S. Rep. Spencer Bachus (above), a Georgia Republican who says he has a list of 17 socialists currently serving in Congress.
Well, just like his ideological ancestor, Joe McCarthy, Bachus is REJECTING all requests to release his list so that we all may know the identities of these redistributionist devils in our midst. The only name he’ll release is Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, who readily admits to being a socialist.
I’m guessing that Bachus doesn’t really have a list. He probably picked the number 17 out of thin air, just as Tail-Gunner Joe used to do back in the 1950s.
