Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.”

TPM does the day in 100 seconds, this time with lots of nutty stuff from Fox News

The wingnut rhetoric about Obama’s “apology tour” is predictable, of course, but also especially funny when you see and hear it in one big batch from people with a collective I.Q. approximating room temperature:

David Corn SAYS President Obama’s eagerly awaited speech today on relations between the West and Muslims was a call “for universal acceptance of a relativistic, ecumenical, multicultural view of human nature and the world.”

Here are some highlights from the speech:

UPDATE: Lots more reactions to the speech HERE.

UPDATE II: The single most insanely stupid reaction to the speech came from Joe Scarborough,  the former Republican congressman and morning blabber on MSNBC:

”I found it fascinating that he didn’t move away from George W. Bush’s belief in democracy and the rights of women.”

If the world allows Scarborough to live that one down, there’s no justice.

Too bad THIS is only satire.

Besides, without the Three Stooges of Modern Conservatism, what would Republicans do for leadership?

E.J. Dionne COMPLAINS that the media trumpet conservative criticisms of the Obama administration but ignore liberal criticisms.

Here’s a dramatic illustration of runaway socialism in America

Uh-oh! It looks like we’ve already become a socialist country.

According to the pie chart above (which comes from theatlantic.com), a little more than two-tenths of 1 percent of American corporate and business assets have been nationalized by the U.S. government under the Obama administration.

That means that only 99.79 percent of those assets remain in private hands.

The conservatives tried to warn us, but we wouldn’t listen. Now it’s all over but the shouting. The socialists have won.

 Conor Clarke explains HERE.
