Limbaugh and other pseudo-patriotic wingnuts call for boycott of GM
June 8th, 2009 at 06:02pm Pat Cunningham
These people are so hateful of Barack Obama, they’ll stop at nothing to help ensure his — and America’s — failure.
Such is the nature of conservative leadership these days.
Read about it HERE.

for all you libs. if everything obama is doing is for the good of the country than limbaugh saying this shouldn’t affect anything. after all obama was elected by a landslide. it seems you libs are getting worried. first the conservatives are nuts then they are ensuring obamas and Americas failure. which is it?

Interesting since I thought I heard him doing advertising for GM on his show recently.
I don’t think he is dumb enough to bite the hand that feeds him. The Transcript does not say I tell everyone to boycott, but that this survey suggests that a boycott would be a good idea.
Yes, I am a Ford guy and my hat’s off to them for not taking any of my money.

I intend to buy another American car and boycott Limbaugh instead. At least the American car companies employ AMERICANS and pump money into the U.S. economy. How many jobs do blowhards like Limbaugh create? Damn few.

Craig-I purchased a Hyundai Santa Fe in January. 45% of the parts for that car are manufactured in the U.S. and the car was assembled in Alabama (and for you liberals out there, yes, Alabama is part of the U.S.).The last “American” car that I purchased was assembled in Canada with parts manufactured in all parts of the world.
So tell me, what is an “American” car?

Mr. Cunningham — This is why there is a two party system. One keeps the other in check and along with that there is criticism. You talk about pseudo-patriots and other nonsense and some folks like Rush Limbaugh wanting Our Savior O to fail, what about all those who daily threatened Bush, denigrated Bush and not only wantd him to fail but wanted him to just go away? Why was that OK and this is not. Mr. C., you folks are all alike. As long as others agre with you, you believe in free speech. When they don’t, you criticize, disparage and just become downright nasty to quiet, suppress others with different points of view. Talk about Pseudo-Americans. Many of us don’t want government run companies and a government telling us how much we deserve to make, how much healthcare we can receive etc. We want a checks and balances system and capitalism even though it too like anything else has flaws. Just stop being so juvenile and calling those who don’t agree with you names. Yoou and many of your party leaders — Joe Biden, Daschle, Hillary, Reid and Pelosi — are like spoiled kids in a toy store who can’t ever be told know. Your egos and thirst for power are out of control. Neither party has all the answers and Bush definitely had some major issues as president, I will agree but to exhalt yourself and others you associate with as having all the answers is a joke. Your policies and Mr. O’s will greatly damage this country. If you are so dissatisfied, there are many other places in this world to move.. I happen to enjoy the exchange of ideas, freedom and other perks we receive here, even when I vehemently diagree. I even respect your right to say what you say. I just wish there was some counterbalance in the media in general… L8r.

Mike C.
We’re in the same boat.
Our “Foreign” Hyundai is made in Alabama too. I could care less where the corporate profits go. No matter what country the headquarters is in the taxes seem to get avoided anyway. The working man’s wages are what count. Oh yes, we liberals know that Alabama is part of the United States. Many of us actually live, or have been there. You need not be so damn patronizing all the time. I really thought you were better than that. But,,,, over my many years I’ve misjudged quite a few folks.
baxman,
“Our Savior O”, “Pseudo-Americans”, “spoiled kids”. And yet you berate Cunningham for calling names?

I don’t always agree with Rush. But all of the libs don’t get it. Rush does not want the country to fail, he wants these initiatives and policies to fail. Not many real liberals left. Pat and his comrades are more like fascist. What ever happened to, I don’t agree with what your saying but I will defend you right to say it. Now, it they don’t agree with what your saying they want to find a way to put you out of business.
I also find that most liberals like to buy foreign cars but then talk about how great the Obama policies are giving money to save GM. BTW, my Toyota was built in Indiana. Come on libs, put you money where your mouth is. I can not tell you how many Prius I see with Obama bumper stickers.

hokumboy-in case you may have missed it, there has been a great deal of disparagement of the South in general, and Alabama in particular, by liberals over the years including on this site. The implication being that the South is not really part of the US.
Develop a sense of humor. Even for liberals, it is not fatal.

GM’s service AND warranty service were terrible before. Not to mention the quality of the vehicles. Have you noticed, in their new commercials, they don’t ever touch anywhere with respect to the quality of what they are trying to sell you? Don’t look for improvement in quality, just improvement in accessibility to EVERYONBE, even if they can’t afford it.
What happens now, when the government takes it over? And what happens next? Subsidised repair programs based on adjusted earned income?
Where do I sign up for that?

Mike, I know what an American car is and that they all get parts from all over. Contrary to what you’d like to believe, I probably know at least as much about the U.S. auto industry as you do. I realize that there are a whole bunch of foreign manufacturers that produce a model or two in the U.S., among them Hyundai, Mazda, Toyota, Nissan, BMW, Mercedes Benz, etc. And I know that some of the U.S. manufacturers make cars in foreign countries, especially Mexico and Canada. But I also know that the foreign makes do not manufacture all of their models in this country. So it is possible to buy some foreign cars that do not involve any American labor. On the other hand, as far as I know, all the U.S. models, whether assembled in the U.S. or not, contain some significant U.S. manufactured content. My present car, built by Mitsubishi, contains some Japanese components, but was assembled in Bloomington, IL. So by purchasing it, I kept some Americans employed. And yes, I know Alabama is part of the U.S. I’ve been in Huntsville, B-ham, Tuscaloosa, and Moundville (if you know where that is). I also worked with a whole bunch of people from B-ham. And Mike, you are aware that the Arian Nation relocated from Idaho to Alabama? There’s a reason for that.
And will somebody tell that nitwit Dingaling that almost all of the liberals I know of are driving cars built in the U.S. But some of the “patriotic” neo-cons don’t.
And for all you neo-cons who are bragging about your foreign-owned, American-assembled SUVs: what’s going to happen to those plants if the gas prices go back up to $4.50/gal like they were last year? Mercedes, Hyundai, etc. are going to be laying off too.

Perhaps the caffeine has not kicked in yet Craig but I don’t get that comment.
