Fox news hypocrisy is nothing compared to the hypocrisy of this blog
2. Pat Cunningham | June 20th, 2009 at 10:28 am
Oooh, Roger. Your retorts are so clever and well-reasoned. You da man!
3. realfoxnews | June 20th, 2009 at 1:42 pm
Pat has always said msnbc was real news and the other three. What would BOBO do if Fox News Channel goes on as a local channel. Then people would get the full balance story, instead of one sided right now.
4. David Barrett | June 20th, 2009 at 1:45 pm
Projecting a little bit Richard? Pat doesn’t just assert that Fox News are hypocrites, he gives examples of their hypocrisy. Roger and Richard have nothing other than assertions. They are like children fling around fact-free insults — ‘Oh yeah?! Well, you’re worse!’
5. realfoxnews | June 20th, 2009 at 2:10 pm
David then why is Fox News the most watch news on cable today. MSNBC is so behind court tv news is go past them. Also MSNBC also count if you stop on the channel for a second, fox news doesn’t. So you all keep thinking BOBO is going to change this world to the good.

Well said, David. Here’s another blatant example of hypocrisy by the fine-feathered finks at (as Keith Olbermann now calls them) “ClusterFox”:
On a sleepless night shortly before the inauguration of President Obama, I recall catching a late-night repeat of one of Bill-O The Clown’s propaganda festivals and vividly remember saying something to effect of (and I am paraphrasing a bit here): “We here at the Factor are looking out for you, and we’re going to start holding our elected politicians to higher standards, regardless of party affiliation. They do something pinheaded, and we’re gonna be all over them.”
Funny thing…..It’s been over a week since news of Senator John Ensign’s affair with a former staff member first broke, and I can’t seem to find any mention of it in any of the online transcripts of this week’s episodes of “The O’Reilly Factor.” Yet O’Reilly seems to go “all Tonya Harding” if Rep. Barney Frank jaywalks across a Washington street. Gee, do you Cons think that Bill-O’s failure to “be all over” Sen. Ensign has anything to with the fact that he has a “R” instead of a “D” after his name?
“Fair and balanced.” What complete BS.
From the June 18, 2009 edition of “Countdown with Keith Olbermann”:
“FOX News, which is not only a political entity but probably more of a political entity than is the Republican National Committee right now, only it’s fraudulently disguised as some sort of news organization.
FOX News foments the beliefs that Barack Obama was not born in this country or if he was, somehow he obtained the White House improperly, or if he actually got there properly, he shouldn’t get to stay there.
And with ever-increasing irrationality, FOX no longer bothers to separate the legitimate means by which he will some day leave there and the illegitimate ones. It is propaganda and bullying and fear-mongering dressed up to look like not merely like news, not merely like the truth, but like the only truth.
Maybe that’s why Obama would not use the name of the organization. He couldn’t call it the FOX News Channel without bursting into laughter. FOX News Channel, a brand name, like “Virgin Brand Condoms.” “

Richard wrote: “I can see how you liberals would get confused to the point in which you think that they are being hypocritical.”
Richard, we Libs on the blog have provided you with numerous instances of irrefutable proof (via posted videos and transcripts) that Fox News is anything BUT “fair and balanced.” (And as I’ve said in the past on this blog, I have no problem whatsoever with the channel being a 24/7 propaganda extension of the GOP — I strongly object to them claiming to be something they obviously [well, it’s obvious to most of us who live in reality] are not.)
And, BTW, thank you for suggesting that folks like me are “the future of our country.” I’m well into middle age, but considering the number of college-age folks who voted for President Obama, the future does indeed look bright for our side of the aisle.

orlando Keith is calling Fox news names its because its like a small guy getting his ### kicked by the big boy. You need to start watching real news. Get your facts first then we can talk, or please just pound sand.

Richard wrote: “Orlando…….. Why is the future so bright for those who voted for Obama?”
I can’t believe that you really have to ask such a question, Richard. I mean, really, how many times do we have to go over this? The various crises that our country is having to deal with today are the direct result of your failed conservative ideology as implemented by the Bush/Cheney regime. You Cons gave this administration eight years to mold our country into a conservative utopia that you envisioned. And it was one disaster after another for your beloved King Midas-in-reverse. The scope of the mess Bush left for President Obama to clean up is of biblical proportions.
And now our future is bright because we have an administration that is determined to undo all the damage that Bush/Cheney inflicted upon our country. It is a daunting task, to be sure, but YES, WE CAN.
With the GOP in shambles, and the party, as a whole, with approval ratings lower than (yikes!) Darth Cheney, it’s going to be (at least) a long, cold eight years for you guys. And, since you find it necessary to use obscenities in your response to my post, it appears that you’re not acclimating very well to your term in exile. Get used to it, pal.

I have been gone on vacation with no internet access for eight days and I see the level of discourse on this site has deteriorated substantially. Lets pick up the pace here folks.

I have presented a myriad FACTS within this thread (and others) to demonstrate conclusively that Fox News does not live up to its moniker of “fair and balanced.”
I challenge you, friend, to present one — just one is all I ask — of one instance where Fox News has been unquestionably fair and balanced.
And, since you mentioned sand, I think I’ll load the dog in the car and drive out to the beach for a Saturday night walk along the Atlantic coast. I’ll check in with you in the morning and see if you’ve posted an example of “fair and balanced” from Fox News. Quite honestly, I think you’ll have a better chance of finding Jimmy Hoffa’s body.
Goodnight, Cons!

Pat, why did you pull the Obama/kung-fu fly-swatting satire? Are you becoming so Liberally paranoid that virtually anything can be considered racially inappropriate? If so, you must also consider David Carradine and Sidney Tolar to be racist actors.
15. Roger | June 21st, 2009 at 7:10 am
Ahh boo hoo did I hurt your little feelings Pat..Poor thing.
Barrett and Orlando you are like MINDLESS children.
My facts are this blog (applesauce) is one sided, hypocritical to a much greater degree than Fox News. Oh yeah I talking of you Pat you talk about your hero Bill he is much more fair than you.
Of course both are better than MSNBC.

Well, realfoxnews, after 15 hours, you still haven’t come up with any kind of example to conclusively demonstrate the ridiculous Fox News claim of being “fair and balanced,” while the examples of extreme right-wing bias on the part of the so-called news channel are legion and can be found all over the Internet. I rest my case.
I’ve reached the conclusion that you, along with several other of your ilk who frequent this board, are hard-wired-for-life Cons who have no interest whatsoever in seeing our country restored to the greatness it was before the reins were handed off to the Bush/Cheney cabal. You are, without a doubt, very bitter over the election of President Obama, and there’s nothing any of us Libs can do or say to convince you that it’s vitally important for all of us to come together and work to solve this mess. Your party is so bankrupt of ideas (sorry, cutting taxes for the wealthy isn’t going to solve anything) that all it can manage to do at this point is to spit vile and be sore-loser obstructionists. And that’s fine with me. Take your ball and go home if you feel it to be necessary, but please stay out of our way as we try to rebuild our country and its economy.
18. realfoxnews | June 21st, 2009 at 11:17 am
So orlando I came up with some but you wont talk about the firing of the guy name Gerald this is a guy BOBO fired under his owen law in supported back in 2007-2008. Why wont you talk about acorn and any other channel like Keith or Rachel MSNBC. Why is the unions getting the better deals when it comes too the BIG THREE, is because BOBO gets alot money from them YES IT IS. Do I need to go on. Once again Orlando pound sand or sick or head in it because you don’t know your talking about.
19. realfoxnews | June 21st, 2009 at 4:01 pm
Pat you are so wrong again my name is not Joe Daly, So why do most of the people you went to school with or know at Aquin think you are so full of hot air. You knife in the back but your nice too their face. So once again another Lib doing a story with out the facts.
20. hokumboy | June 22nd, 2009 at 8:05 pm
Richard,
Orlando’s use of “isn’t” was correct.
And yes, you are right about one thing. Your grammar sucks.
21. Craig Knauss | June 22nd, 2009 at 10:37 pm
“Can you tell me the rate in which the rich are being taxed already? ” Come on, Richard. That’s been covered a zillion times on here already. Were you in a cave? And what’s that got to do with anything? When Reagan was president, he was bitching about the abused rich paying “55 percent” of their earnings in taxes. He never mentioned, even once, that was the rate BEFORE deductions. After deductions, set asides, credits, etc., the average person making more than $250,000 per year paid a whopping 28%. (Source IRS) That was only a couple percent more than I paid after my deductions.
So Richard, when are you going to start providing the sources for YOUR information? It would improve your credibility.
22. David Barrett | June 23rd, 2009 at 6:46 am
Richard,
Let me get this straight. You complain about how high the tax rate is for upper income taxpayers. Craig points out that because of the way the tax code is written the rich end up only paying a slightly higher rate than the middle class. Your response is to claim they should pay the same rate as the middle class. The intellectual dishonesty of the shifting goal posts is striking, but even more amazing is your apparent belief that you are winning converts to your side of the isle by arguing against the concept of the graduated income tax — an accepted aspect of our tax code for over 100 years.
I would like to suggest to any readers of these comments who are still open to being persuaded whether to vote Democrat or Republican in future elections that if you accept Mike and Richard as spokespersons for the right and Republicanism then that side has shown itself to be devoid of intellectual integrity, fresh ideas and competence.
23. Dave Barrett | June 23rd, 2009 at 11:08 am
Richard,
What!?!? It’s useless to try to debate with you. You change what you are arguing for in every comment. How can you hope to persuade anyone of anything when you don’t even know what your position is?
