Comments on: Wal-Mart wants law forcing big companies to provide health coverage to their workers

Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don't say you weren't warned. By the way, this blog's name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, "All politics is applesauce."

Brain injury or not, anyone who thinks Wal-Mart is doing this for the goodness of their workforce needs their head examined.

Single payer is _the_ way to go; not doing so is foolish. Single payer seems to work for Police Protection, Fire Protection, Military Protection, Tax Collection, and so on-besides having insurance companies lay off employees (boo hoo hoo cry me a river), why can this not work?

realfoxnews- I'll assume that you did suffer the brain injury that you have referenced. If that is indeed the case, make sure that you go through the rehabilitation that is recommended by your doctors. I speak from some experience as my younger brother suffered a brain injury and he refused the rehabilitation services that were recommended. He has never recovered and there is no expectation that he will get better.
His injuries impacted his ability to organize his thoughts rationally and severely damaged his short term memory. Prior to his accident he was an independent sales rep and now he is on SSI.
Listen to your doctors.

I'll be willing to settle for government-run health care as soon as the President, the House, and the Senate will accept the exact same system for themselves. Don't hold your breath waiting for that to happen.

Orlando wrote-"Profit and greed trumps everything else, you know. Concern and compassion are for weenies only."
While I certainly don't agree with that comment as a generalization, it is true more than we like to admit. I am always reminded of Lenin's famous quote " The capitalists will sell us the rope with which we will hang them".
