Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.”

The Washington Post’s Dan Balz (a Freeport native and boyhood friend of mine, as I’ve noted here on previous occasions) SAYS Sarah Palin’s stated rationale for quitting as governor of Alaska in mid-term has left her “open to legitimate criticism that she is walking away for the wrong reasons.”

UPDATE: Here’s another pretty good ANALYSIS of Palin’s dramatic move.

Republicans say that if President Obama and his supporters get their way, healthcare in America will start to look like healthcare overseas. Yes, maybe everybody will have insurance. But people will have to wait in long lines. And when they are done waiting in line, the care won’t be very good.

Oh, really? Well, tell it to the people of France and the Netherlands, who don’t seem too eager to trade their health-care systems for ours, as Jonathan Cohn explains HERE.
