 Turnouts at protest tea parties around the country this weekend were considerably lower than when Fox News pulled out all the stops for the first round of such rallies in April.
 These latest doings also may have suffered from much less official involvement on the part of the Republican Party.

 The Washington Post’s Dan Balz (a Freeport native and boyhood friend of mine, as I’ve noted here on previous occasions) SAYS Sarah Palin’s stated rationale for quitting as governor of Alaska in mid-term has left her “open to legitimate criticism that she is walking away for the wrong reasons.”

 Republicans say that if President Obama and his supporters get their way, healthcare in America will start to look like healthcare overseas. Yes, maybe everybody will have insurance. But people will have to wait in long lines. And when they are done waiting in line, the care won’t be very good.
