Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.”

They broke it but won’t fix it

While I am not a Republican, I see no reason for this slander against them. There is nothing that Republican congressmen can do against the Democratic machine running our Nation.

It’s time to stop the blabber, and be counted for something all by yourselves! The President and the Clinton staff have set things in place, where there is no constitutional authority to do so. Read the US. Constitution, and point that out to me… It’s not there!
There is no provision for the Federal government to give private companies our tax dollars.

I have yet to see the real Obama Birth Certificate.
I have yet to see what is really IN fort Knox, or get an independent report on it.
The Federal Reserve Bank has not yet been audited, as it needs to be.

Wonder why Republicans are staying away from Democrat ideals as much as they can?
    It’s because they are Republicans!
While so many Republicans vote and act like Democrats, the votes they cast, and the policies they feed us will come back to them at the end of this administration!

There is not a Republican in the world who wants to be associated with all of this Unconstitutional Socialism!

By the way, We are NOT a Democracy! Did you ALL go to Public School?
Our government is a Representative Republic! There is a whole lot of difference between them!

So you take your Democracy back to Stalin where you left it in the 60s, and state in the US Constitution where it is that the Federal Government has the right to do so much of this slop we are getting fed with!

I am Daniel Robert Smyth - I live on the West side of Rockford,

I have seen here what pure Socialism is doing, I wonder why people still think more money will make failed policies work!

    Against Enemies Foreign and Domestic,

    Daniel Robert Smyth

This video isn’t slander against the Republicnas. It’s a valid criticism. If you haven’t seen Obama’s real birth certificate, look it up. That’s the one the state of Hawaii gives.
You will have to explain how a public health care option is unconstitutional. Because it isn’t spelled out? A lot of things aren’t spelled out in the constitution and they aren’f banned by it either.

We are a democratic republic. You are the one who should go to school.

Hey, Daniel. Who are you calling a domestic enemy? Me? You’re not going to sic some weirdo militia people on me, are you? I don’t want to have to take all my automatic weapons out of storage.

By the way, Stalin died in 1953 and therefore wasn’t around when we went to the Kremlin in the ’60s to learn all about that democracy stuff. Actually, it’s worked out pretty well. You may not believe in it, but some of us do.

Oh, and as for your claim that the stuff going on today is a violation of the Constitution, I’ve got an idea for you. Why don’t you or some other right-winger take a case to the Supreme Court, where a majority of the justices are conservatives. See what they say.

And as for your claim that the United States is not a democracy, that’s just a bunch of semantic hooey. The U.S. is a representative democracy as opposed to a direct democracy (although California has got a half-assed version of the latter). Some might say ours is a democratic republic. In any event, all of our legislators and many of our government executives are chosen in democratic elections. That pretty much makes us a democracy. Nowadays, we even let women and minorities vote. That makes us sort of a liberal democracy, I suppose. It didn’t used to be that way, y’know.

One other thing, I see that you’re a birther, which means I’m probably wasting my time trying to explain any of this stuff to you. But I’m glad you stopped by here anyway. And come again. We get lots of your kind of folks here. You’ll feel right at home.

OK! OK! I know it’s silly to argue with a guy like Dan Smith, but I’m in a playful mood. It isn’t every day that I come across such delicious nonsense as this completely unintelligible sentence:

“So you take your Democracy back to Stalin where you left it in the 60s, and state in the US Constitution where it is that the Federal Government has the right to do so much of this slop we are getting fed with!”

Back to Stalin where you left it? Wow! That’s a beauty, ain’t it?

Hey, realfoxnews: I think we’ve found a new friend for you.
