Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.”

Senate Repubs honor teabaggers, snub Hispanics

In light of dramatic demographic changes in the political landscape, how smart is THIS?

(By the way, because of the misspelling on the sign in the photo above, this image has become downright iconic and has been reproduced countless times across the Internet and in other media. Furthermore, the word “morans” is often invoked to mock wingnuts.)

Well…as a Cubs fan, I’ve seen this pic countless times on Cubs blogs as a general reference to the stupidity of Cardinals fans. Sigh…as much I hate to admit Pat being right twice in one day (must be a Friday thing)…the true story behind this pic is in reference to wingnuts.

According to Fark.com…here’s the background of the pic:

“Moran”: Misspelling of moron, referring to a well-known picture of a redneck holding two signs saying “Get a brain! Morans” and “Go USA”, in response to anti-war activists protesting the US invasion of Iraq. The image was originally taken at a Boeing plant in Saint Charles, Missouri (a suburb of St. Louis), shortly after the war began in March 2003, and was originally posted on the web site of the St. Louis Independent Media Center. (The original article and images have apparently since been archived.)

But as far as the actual post goes, Republicans are downright stupid for not backing Sen. Reid’s proposal to honor Hispanic media members. There is only upside to being bi-partisan on this issue. By being stubborn, the Republican party is only hurting themselves.

You would think they would be aware of these statistics and try to do something about them:

Honor Hispanic Media?? Why does the left always have to give everyone a label according to race. Once again, the left proves who the real racists are. Dirty Harry, a pandering puke.

A quick question, is the Democrat Charley Rangel still a committee chairman in the HOR…. Culture of Corruption continues. Tax cheats rule..
