  To Boehner himself? Most likely, not very much. Glenn Beck, who fancies himself a Constitutional scholar, has also been caught numerous times misquoting the Constitution. And he’s always been unapologetic about it. The important thing is that it stirs up the crazies, accuracy be damned. Don’t forget, many Fox Propaganda Channel viewers STILL believe that Iraq attacked us on 9/11.

  Orlando - Many liberals STILL believe Al-Qaeda had no ties to Iraq, which is also untrue.

  Neftali. Maybe you should read your own link before you post it. It clearly states that the Iraq war started in March 2003. Al-Qaeda went into Iraq in 2004 to force Amercan troops out.
  GWB tried to use the Hussien/Al-Qaeda connection to justify the war when the WMD reason fell apart. GWB finally admitted in 2006 there was no connection between Hussien/Al-Qaeda. If you want to check this out read this.

  I’ll give Boehner the benefit of the doubt that it was unintentional — but to do that I would also have to point out that he didn’t EVEN CHECK “copy of the constituition” that he WAVES in his hand.
  This is another example of how conservatives will dress themselves in patriotic or religious trappings and spout off ridiculous errors.
  Obama’s 57 states remark is the counter-example to show liberals say ridiculous things too. This is why I give Boehner the benefit of the doubt.

  shawnnews: As I’ve pointed out here on several occasions, it’s pure myth that Obama, an honors graduate of Harvard Law School, doesn’t realize that there are only 50 states.

  But no matter how many times I have explained that Obama’s remark about “57 states” was a slip of the tongue as he was counting up the states and territories that held Democratic primaries and caucuses last year, the myth endures.

  Actually, the real number of Democratic primaries and caucuses was 56. Even this guy, who says he’s no fan of Obama, understood the situation:

  Neftali,
  The only apparent connection between Iraq and al-Qaida, before we invaded Iraq, was in a couple of Dick Cheney speeches which he delivered to the party faithful while trolling for campaign money in 2004. Cheney never directly said there was a connection, but he implied there was. Later, the White House denied the entire connection. Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein had nothing in common and would have killed each other if given the chance. al-Qaida in Iraq came there because we were already there.

  Oh, and while Wikipedia is a wonderful source of information, it is not infallible. The information in it is only as accurate as what was submitted. Few of the facts are checked for their pedigree.

  I believe you, Pat. The point is he looked silly. He knows there’s 50 states.
