Applesauce
Pat Cunningham offers an unabashedly liberal perspective on national politics. A note of caution: The language gets a litttle salty on some of the sites to which this blog links. So, don’t say you weren’t warned. By the way, this blog’s name is inspired by the Will Rogers quote, “All politics is applesauce.” |

Thank you for posting this Mr. Cunningham. It is painful to admit, but these supposedly outdated attitudes about a “woman’s place” are still around but are usually expressed in more subtle ways than in the seventies.
Some of the ways for a man to put a woman “in her place” that I have witnessed at meetings and conferences in recent years is to ignore her comment, change the subject, or make a joke instead of acknowledging or responding.
