Here’s the situation:
Currently pending before the U.S. Senate is a nuclear treaty that has been endorsed by six former secretaries of state and five former secretaries of defense from both parties; the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff; seven former Strategic Command chiefs; national security advisers from both parties, and nearly all former commanders of U.S. nuclear forces.
But, as we see HERE, there’s cause for doubt that a sufficient number of Senate Republicans will vote for ratification.

I support ratification of the START treaty. It doesn’t have as much bite as it it purported to, but it is a step in the right direction. There are plenty of weapons in many country’s arsenals to deter any aggression, nuclear or otherwise. The GOP needs to get on board.
