Their “going overboard” meant a nice victory last month. A letter writer brought up that the conservative victories were the result of spending by “plutocrats” twho won a spureme court victory equating money with speech. What do you think, Pat?

    Barry says:
“However, they give the big spending liberals taht have dragged the balance sheet of the country over a cliff.”
    This is baseless.
Here’s a tax dollar breakdown from CNBC.
    http://www.cnbc.com/id/24033281/?photo=1
42.2 cents goes to the military.
    22.1 cents goes to health.
10.2 cents goes to non-military debt.
8.7 cents goes to anti-poverty programs.
4.4 cents goes to education, training and social services.
3.9 cents goes to government and law enforcement.
3.3 cents goes to housing and community development.
2.6 cents goes to environment, energy and science.
1.5 cents goes to agriculture, commerce and transportation.
1 cent goes to international affairs.

Medicare is under the 22.1 cents that goes to health.

BTW, I posted too soon. Your debt clock link is good for an overview of the financial situation of the US and its states only if it’s information is true. I don’t know how they gather it.

Pat did a blog on the stimulus saying and the CBO report saying the effects of it have probably peaked.
You will have to provide the CBO information in a link that shows where you claim: “According to the CBO and OMB, the Obama administration (assuming they are in office for 8 years) will have the largests deficits in Americans history. There lowest projected deficit is about $700 billion.”
    The debt clock isn’t it.

The same people that said that Reagan couldn’t win. Reagan was right. Documentation should be transmitted to Senator Lugar officiating his excommunication from the Republican Party. It worked for 2,000 years.

No, I suppose you don’t HAVE to but it makes things more clear so people can tell where you get your numbers, I wish more people would actually provide the raw data for their analysis. Cheers to you — thanks.
On a second look at both our links, it appears our articles are out of date. My tax dollar breakdown is from 2008 and your graph is from 2009. I don’t see the stimulus as a failure at all. It’s not something to do often, but a domestic investment in the country is fine.
This article is from October 1 and says the stimulus is successful.
    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/09/30/AR2010093007382.html
Arguing that creating deficits is a problem is different than arguing that the stimulus worked or not.
This ties into Pat’s article because the Tea Party people who are against stimulus and TARP and spending for the principle of avoiding deficits are actually shooting themselves in the foot for good intentions. It’s like not treating a sick patient because it would cost too much. Waving flags but not wanting to actually spend money on the country is disingenous. I understand their arguments but they’re not looking at results, they’re looking at ideology. These people don;t seem to care how much it costs to engage in a war by choice in Iraq. The stimulus is necessary and a more patriotic investment becasuse it directly helps citizens.

Here’s something else the Tea Party doesn’t understand. Obama cut taxes for working families through the stimulus, as the link above demonstrates. Citizens got the money.
These guys are just against the Democrats. They could care less about tax cuts. It’s just hyper-partisanship. http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2010/jan/28/barack-obama/tax-cut-95-percent-stimulus-made-it-so/

These guys are just against the Democrats. They could care less about tax cuts. It’s just hyper-partisanship. To be against a principle just because the other team suggests it is like cult thinking to me. So I came up with this clever acronym awhile back:
Conservatives Using Limited Thinking — CULT
I owe a nod of the head to Chuck Sweeny’s CAVE acronym. (Citizens Against Virtually Everything).
Liberals do the same when they whine about Bush.
By the way, there’s a guy on the boards using the handle Nelopinion that came up with LOSER — Liberals Overseeing Socialist Entitlement Reforms (or something similar).
