Right-wing hate group blames gays for WikiLeaks disclosures

 bryan-fischer-cropped-proto-custom_2.jpg

Bryan Fischer (above) of the American Family Assocation, which was recently designated a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center, SAYS the WikiLeaks disclosures are evidence that gays shouldn’t be allowed to serve in the military.

By the way, this is the same Bryan Fischer who recently said that the Medal of Honor has been “feminized” because “we now award it only for preventing casualties, not for inflicting them.” (See HERE.)

…and I opine that this individual is an unlawful enemy combatant and ought be targeted as such.

a777pilot — do you think the Bush Administration guys and conservative columnist Robert Novak who outed Valerie Plame as a CIA agent are enemy combatants too. If you are going to make bold statements, apply them to your own cause also.
I argued with Nic Stewart on his blog last afternoon and night on my day off.

Shawnnews, it is a well known fact that Richard Armitage outed Valerie Plame. Novak was investigated and not charged.

    The SPLC has no credibility

but what do we expect from a guy that thinks grocery prices have not risen.

  5. Poor Main Man. He clings to his right-wing myths no matter all the evidence to the contrary.

By way of sticking up for a homophobic hate group, he reasserts here his agreement with Sarah Palin’s mistaken claim last month that grocery prices had “risen significantly over the past year or so.”

As I have previously explained to Main Man, the Wall Street Journal, a conservative paper, recently reported this: “Grocery prices haven’t risen all that significantly, in fact. The consumer price index’s measure of food and beverages for the first nine months of this year showed average annual inflation of less than 0.6 percent, the slowest pace on record (since the Labor Department started keeping this measure in 1968). Even if you pick a single snapshot — say, September’s year-over-year increase in prices — that was just 1.4.percent, far better than the 6 percent annual increase for food prices recorded in September 2008.”

Yes, there are reports that inflation is beginning to ripple through the food industry, but the key word there is “beginning.” Palin says grocery prises have risen “significantly over the past year or so.” That’s not even remotely true.

In another recent Wall Street Journal article, it was reported that last year was “the tamest year of food pricing in nearly two decades.”

But Main Man clings to his myths. And he defends homophobes, too.

Wonder what Fischer would have to say about Scooter Libby (Defense Department) or Daniel Ellsberg (ex-Marine).

Main Man: I can’t even begin to explain how hilarious it is that you link to a site run by FAIR to try to discredit the SPLC.

What a coincidence that FAIR, an organization designated as a hate group, would try to argue that the SPLC has no credibility in designating groups as hate groups.

Your link is the equivalent of Ahmadinejad arguing that the US has no credibility in labeling another country as dangerous.

As for the grocery prices thing: move on already. You’re starting to sound like the old high school quarterback who works at the car wash. You had that one moment and now you just can’t let go of it.

Well, if memory serves me correctly, Ms Plame was NOT outed by anyone. According to the Special Prosecutor, no crime was committed. To be “outed” and have it a federal crime, the information of as to who is an agent of the CIA must be made available within 5 years of that agent having been in the field. Ms. Plame did not fall within that criteria.

If you are going to call me out on something at least get your facts right first.

I don’t trust the Labor Department.

I do know that when the wife and I go grocery shopping we pay more for less. The prices of just about everything is up. Where the price is not up the quantity and/or quality is down.

Pat, you might be rich, but I suggest you get out of your office or off the golf course and see what people are paying for their food.

“No he trust a half term Governor…”

Nope. I don’t trust her either. I don’t listen to Rush, but I have in the past. He is very difficult to listen to for more than a few minutes. The same applies to Beck. If I want to be preached to, I will attend church. I don’t do that either.

Boy, what an unusual “conservative” am I.

I also am NOT for term limits. In fact I am for the repeal of the 22d Amendment.

I do not think any sort of Constitutional Amendment to balance the budget is a good idea.

    What were we discussing?

Well it’s not called the land of Fruits and Nuts for nothing.

Maybe they could talk Jane Fonda into presenting the medal to him.

Jim Yeager — There are two groups called FAIR.
One is the supposed hate group — the “Federation for American Immigration Reform.”
The other is “Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting” that is questioning the Southern Povetry Law Canter’s designation of the American Family Association as a hate group.

a777pilot — Richard Armitage revealed the information to Robert Novak who published it in a column. Other White House officials were involved who had spoken about Plame to other reporters. “Scooter” Libby was convicted in charges relating to the Plame case when he spoke to other reporters, not Novak.

That is all true but one must read the Special Prosecutor’s final report to understand that no crime was committed in the “outing” if Ms. Plame.

If Mr. Libby was too stupid to tell the truth to the FBI and the Special Prosecutor, then he needs to be locked up.

A quick glance at your Link proves that

I don’t click on hate sites

Well Peanut just because you are a TeaBagr, you should not be so quick to call hate where there are just facts. But I wouldn’t expect anything other than hate from you TeaBagr’s.

  15. a777pilot – You’re wasting your time. I frequently read articles from Daily Kos, Huffingtonpost, Democratic Underground, politcusa, and several others, including most of what Pat provides, in order to understand multiple points of view.

Many other moderates do likewise. They listen to both sides, then formulate a rational decision.

People like Peanut are the dictionary definition of close-mindedness and hypocrite. He’s no better than the person who watches Fox News and nothing else.

  16. a777pilot

    Read everything.

I agree…”listen to both sides, then formulate a rational decision.”

    Question everything.

  17. a777pilot

Hey, Peanut, when is the next “meeting” of all you TeaBagr’s? Do you think you will try to think?

Here’s a quick question for all you TeaBagr’s: If the government does not spend money or buy anything, will they get in debt?

  18. Full of crap? I don’t remember that warm reference to Neftali and I. Come to think of it, this my first post on this thread. Nothing like an ad hominem attack from the one who once decried his poor picked upon self.

Don’t worry though Peanut, it made me smile. If nothing else, the foaming at the mouth finally proves you are a liberal. It seems to be some sort of outbreak of rabies amongst the liberals this week.

My clinic is open if you think you need a booster :)

  19. shawnnews

    This thread got really confused.
    Peanut’s not a Tea Partier — he’s a lefty.
If Valerie Plame wasn’t outed as a CIA agent, I wouldn’t know she was one. It has nothing to do with criminal charges. Her identity was a government secret that was revealed to journalists. All Bush conservatives did was circle the wagons. It seems to me when someone else commits crimes they are all for stiff penalties.

  20. a777pilot

Peanut is a TeaBagr. Why would you deny that?

There are many who were CIA agents. I even know some. The law states that this so called outing must be within five years of that person being an active agent. It’s just the law.

As far as throwing in jail those whose politics I might agree with, I really don’t care. If they are dumb enough to break the law, enjoy jail. Democrats have never held their members to any kind of a stand, except the double standard.

  21. Jim Yeager

shawnnews: I’m aware that there are two organizations using the acronym FAIR, but the link that Main Man posted was to a website run by the Federation for American Immigration Reform.

  22. a777pilot: When Peanut mentions teabaggers (no matter the spelling), he’s apparently referring to supporters of the Tea Party movement. But when you use that term, your meaning is something else. Quite obviously, Peanut doesn’t sympathize with the Tea Party movement. Ergo, I’m telling you to stop using that term. And don’t argue with me about it.
