House Speaker John Boehner said the other day that each of 219 pending federal regulations “will cost our economy at least $100 million.”
That’s a lie.
Boehner seems not to understand — or chooses to ignore — that some regulations likely to have an economic impact of $100 million or more will actually benefit the economy at least that much. He wants us to believe that the economic impact of regulations is always to the downside.
