Home Depot tells hate group what it can do with its anti-gay petition

Three cheers for the corporate poohbahs at Home Depot, who have TOLD the bigots of the American Family Association to peddle their hatred elsewhere:

Executives at The Home Depot gave a cool reception to representatives of the anti-gay hate group American Family Association at the company’s annual shareholder’s meeting in Atlanta this week.

The AFA recently called for a nationwide boycott against The Home Depot because it says the home improvement retailer continues to “promote the homosexual agenda.”

  1. Today almost all major corporations actively endorse diversified lifestyles. For corporations, everything comes down to math. And the fact is that there is more public support for gay rights, or at a minimum gay tolerance, than there is ant-gay crusades. Thus, they can make more money supporting the gay community than rejecting it. Plus I’m sure support for the LGBT community helps prevent lawsuits.

With that statement in mind, its ironic that more on the left don’t actively support corporations.

I’m kind of disturbed that “anti-gay” groups are being lable as a hate group. Do they not also have the right to protest for what they beleive? Do they also not have the right to live there life the way they want? So I don’t beleive in the life style of same sex relationships, so do you lable me as a “Hate”. I don’t believe in muder, so i must hate all murders? I don’t believe in having sex with young children so I must hate all pedophiles?

Let’s turn the table, where do you have the right to tell man or woman of aged that they can’t have sex with willing children? Who are you to tell people can’t have sex with animales? Just cause it’s your point of view that’s wrong dosn’t mean it’s everyones. So does that mean everyone should be lable as “hate groups”?

It’s simple it’s your POV agaisnt others POV. This country is full of things i don’t agree with but I just try to live my life the best i can, but i’m started to get little annoyed when you make it seem that anyone “anti-gay” is some “hate” thing. I don’t hate them, i just choose not to believe in there lifestyle. This is just another one of those topics that get out of hand by both sides. Just like how our country can disgrace the christian faith openly but we can’t touch islam with a 10 foot pole publicy.

Three cheers for the Home Depot!

  4. andrew carnack: You may not be a hater, but the American Family Association is a hate group.

AFA spokesman Bryan Fischer once said that “[h]omosexuality gave us Adolph Hitler, and homosexuals in the military gave us the Brown Shirts, the Nazi war machine and six million dead Jews.”

Fischer also has said that “homosexuals, as a group, are the single greatest perpetrators of hate crimes on the planet, outside the Muslim religion.” He has claimed that non-Christian religions “have no First Amendment right to the free exercise of religion,” which would have been a surprise to the authors of the Bill of Rights. He said that the “sexual immorality of Native Americans” was part of what made them “morally disqualified from sovereign control of American soil.” He even suggested the best way to deal with promiscuity would be to kill the promiscuous.

Fischer also has said that President Obama “nurtures this hatred for the United States of America and, I believe, nurtures a hatred for the white man.” He also once referred to black “people who rut like rabbits.”

The AFA is a hate group, plain and simple.
